Inspiring Others Has Become My Curse

Engaging with people is not always enough

I’ve lost count of how many times people have told me that my journey, my articles, my creations, or our conversations have inspired them to pursue their dreams. But the truth is, inspiration doesn’t pay my mortgage.

It is ironic how being a source of inspiration and the hard work that goes into every interaction, doesn’t seem to be taken into account.

There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes for those who are considered inspiring, and who are trying not to sink into the curse of being a source of inspiration without any further recognition.

In this article, I am going to explore what it’s like, to me, to be told “You are truly inspirational” and find it challenging to turn this ability into a financially stable business.

The Burden of Being an Inspiration

Meeting new people worldwide online is one of my favourite activities. I love learning about different views on our daily problems, but also about cultural celebrations and ways of dealing with inner struggles.
