The co-founder of Zenithec Techware, Samveg Thaker was invited for the iTalk. iTalk is an initiative by Innovation Cell, NIT Raipur where an Entrepreneur enlightens the students with the start-up culture. It was a really special moment for us and we really want to share it with everyone, so this is going to be in 4 parts and it will cover some major lessons you will definitely find useful as an Entrepreneur.

The Story of Zenithec Techware

The story dates back to 21st March 2018, when we attended a “Guest Lecture Series” and volunteered to ask a question to one of the speakers.

The problem we faced, and I am sure a lot of freelancers will relate to it, that we were not getting projects. This was because people trusted companies more. We were four second-year students, sitting in the college canteen when the idea of Zenithec Techware popped up in our immature heads.

Social Media profiles were created and we were off to search for the first project. Since we were college students, people didn’t trust us (and it was so obvious). Fortunately, we got our first project which we finished by the end of March 2018. We really learnt two important lessons in that phase of our life.

Lesson#1: NEVER GIVE UP

Lesson#2: HOPE FOR THE BEST AND PREPARE FOR THE WORST

These might sound like mere quotes from the internet, but the situations we faced taught us the lessons that we still follow.

The next project we almost got couldn’t get confirmed because the client went abroad. Since it was a big project, we were definitely upset about it for some time. After all, we had invested 1.5 months of our time in it and all of it was wasted. But instead of giving up or dwelling about it, we moved on and got a bigger project than that.

Lesson#3: DON’T DWELL UPON THINGS, FOCUS ON HOW YOU CAN BE BETTER.

Networking is so important. The third and the biggest project we have got till now was not someone with whom we had direct contact. There were a lot of people whom we met, and our idea was promoted by the word of mouth (the best form of marketing, today and forever).

Our road wasn’t always smooth. Challenges are inevitable, and we accept them whole-heartedly. We did have setbacks, some of our team members left us in the most crucial time and we didn’t know what to do. We somehow managed and executed the required tasks. We knew what we were, so we also found solutions to our problems. Thus,

Lesson#4: YOU CAN LIE TO THE WORLD, BUT NOT TO YOURSELF.

That’s all for now. In the next article, we will be sharing some points on how to start a start-up, what are the points to consider before you go for it and what are the most important things in a start-up. See you next time!
