Three Versions of Zenlink DEX Protocol v0.4: Module, WASM and EVM | Zenlink Monthly Updates (May 2021)

In May, Zenlink made good progress in technology development and community operation. Zenlink DEX Protocol v0.4 has successfully implemented three different versions of Module, WASM, and EVM, and the applicability of the platform has been dramatically improved. In the aspect of DApp development, DEX DApp v0.5 has been completed with two new main functions: intelligent routing and price trend chart; at the same time, SlotVault DApp, a new product built by the Zenlink team for Polkadot slot auction, has also been pre-released.

In terms of operation, Zenlink participated in a number of online and offline events in May, which greatly enhanced our brand awareness.

Technology/product progress

Notes: Zenlink is mainly consisted of two core parts: Zenlink DEX Protocol and DApp. Zenlink Protocol will implement a simple, highly versatile and pluggable DEX Module, which can enable parachains to access DEX capabilities after the Module is deployed on the parachain in a plug-and-pull manner; at the same time, we will also create an efficient DEX dedicated cross-chain protocol to realize the liquidity sharing between the DEX Module on different parachains.

Zenlink DApp is a front-end interactive product based on Zenlink DEX Protocol to facilitate users to use cross-chain DEX without awareness. The development progress will be disclosed around the above two parts.

1. DEX Protocol

• Zenlink DEX Protocol v0.4 has successfully implemented three different versions of Module, WASM and EVM, which enables Zenlink to access any Polkadot parachains, and truly achieves the applicability of cross-chain and cross-technology stack. The following is a brief introduction to the three versions:

Zenlink DEX Module: The Zenlink DEX Module version refers to the version that can be inserted into the parachain code by Pallet, so that it can be quickly integrated into the parachain. Zenlink DEX Module adapts to the latest Polkadot v0.9.3 code, optimizes internal routing and asset representation, and unifies the exposed interface through abstraction.

Zenlink DEX WASM: Zenlink DEX WASM version is the original contract implementation of Polkadot, and it is also the main contract deployment mode of Polkadot network in the future. The Zenlink DEX WASM version has the ability to deploy to WASM contract platform in the first place, and the applicability of the platform has been greatly improved.

Zenlink DEX EVM: The Zenlink DEX EVM version is a contractual deployment mode adopted in order to be compatible with the operation of the Ethereum EVM, and it is also a transition scheme adopted in the initial stage of the Polkadot network. The Zenlink DEX EVM version implements all the functions of the protocol layer, complements the perfect testing process, and can also be deployed to the parachain of EVM contracts at the first time, which greatly expands the applicability of the platform.

2. DEX DApp

• DEX DApp v0.5 development completed with two main functions: intelligent routing and price trend chart.

Among them, “intelligent routing” can enable users to get the best price and optimal exchange scheme, and then complete the exchange of assets between parachains. We have tested this function in various usage scenarios to test the optimized price exchange path algorithm according to the actual situation.

And the “price trend chart” is also one of the functions that users care about every day. We analyzed user habits and compared them with CEX chart types, so that Zenlink’s price trend chart and historical analysis chart will be more in line with DEX user behavior and help users better allocate assets.

• In order to carry out the second round of public testing of Zenlink in a better way, the Zenlink team has conducted a series of operation and maintenance operations, completed the new underlying service architecture, and completed the monitoring of the status at the basic level and on the chain, thus improving the availability and stability of the service.
• Since we have completed the implementation of three major versions of the Zenlink DEX protocol layer (Module, WASM and EVM), the team will try to find a way to integrate these three different protocol implementations at the DEX DApp level to allow users to complete one-stop transactions.

3. SlotVault DApp

• SlotVault DApp product details are officially disclosed! The goal of Zenlink SlotVault is to create a cooperation platform between parachain projects and non-parachain projects, attract users to participate in parachain slot auctions, provide them with maximum returns, and promote the development of Polkadot parachain slot auction.
• After communicating with the first batch of projects that joined SlotVault, we analyzed their different slot auction schemes and will adjust and polish the interactive details in the future.

Ecosystem cooperation progress

• Zenlink reached a strategic partnership with Bondly and SakeSwap for the creation and issuance of Zenlink NFT on the BSC (Binance Smart Chain).
• Zenlink’s “PLO as mining” smart pool product Zenlink SlotVault announced that it will be deeply integrated with Bifrost slot auction derivatives solution SALP, providing the first liquidity derivatives mining product for slot auction.

Community/promotion progress

1. Community building progress

• On May 11, the official website of the Patract Open Platform Alliance officially launched and published a summary and sharing of the progress of the Wasm contract among alliance members. Before that, Zenlink had reached strategic cooperation with Patract and joined as a founding member. • On May 14, Zenlink officially announced the launch of bootstrapping governance for ZenlinkDAO. The Zenlink Foundation will select initial governance members and will seek diversified representatives, including key community members, strategic partners and investors committed to building Zenlink. In the future, the committee will guide ZenlinkDAO to gradually become a completely decentralized organization. Related projects, crypto communities, KOL, media, investment institutions, etc., can apply to join ZenlinkDAO, to build a better Web3.0 world together with Zenlink.
• On May 21, Zenlink published an article: Introduce the New Features of Zenlink Protocol v0.4.1 and disclosed the new features and design details of Zenlink Protocol v0.4.1.
• On May 24, Zenlink launched its first Explorer edition NFTs on SakeSwap.
• On May 25, Zenlink published an article: “PLO is mining”: Zenlink SlotVault will be launched soon, and participate in the parachain crowdloan vote for multiple benefits, announcing the upcoming launch of “PLO is mining” smart pool product — Zenlink SlotVault which will help to promote the development of slot auctions.

2. Event Branding

• On May 16, Guo Tao, head of Zenlink China, attended the offline event of the 2021 Polkadot Ecological China Trip (Chengdu), sponsored by Bluemountain Labs, and expressed his views on how to play DeFi and NFT on Polkadot.
• On May 17, Zenlink conducted an AMA in the community SPECTRE GRP. Guo Tao, head of Zenlink China, disclosed the latest progress and future plans of Zenlink in AMA.
• On May 27, Guo Tao, head of Zenlink China, showed up in the seventh live broadcast of the PolkaWorld Polkadot parachain series and expressed his views on Statamint, as well as the basic situation and future vision of Zenlink.
• On May 31, Guo Tao, head of Zenlink China, attended the Bitalk round table party hosted by Bitalk News together with Bifrost, ChainX and Acala, where he expressed his views on the ecological progress of Polkadot and introduced the recent development plans of Zenlink.
