ZBC#90 [Farewell to the borders of Civilizations] The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order/文明の衝突

Today, let me introduce The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order[文明の衝突] from Zenport Book Club#90 on Feb17th 2018.

After the cold war, people thought the war would be end.

However, as we know, war still occurs all over the world

In 1997, Samuel P Huntington, the author of the book, argued that future wars will be the war not between ideologies, but between civilizations, especially western vs Islamic and Chinese.

Why did he think that?

If it’s true, in order to avoid the crash, what should we do?

Let’s get started.

Summary

  • After Cold War, crashes will be happed between civilizations, not between ideology.
  • People need to identify themselves, and they need civilization for that. People cannot stop searching for their identity, and it sometimes cause the crashes between identity.
  • Now, the world is divided by seven civilizations, Western, Eastern Orthodox(Russia), Islamic, Hindu, Latin American, Chinese and Japanese. Currently, the power of Chinese and Islamic are growing up. They will ally and stand against Western. Western and Non-Western
  • In order to avoid the crash between civilizations, we need to remember the following three points. 1.Core countries of a civilization should avoid interfere other ones. 2. Core countries should stop the war at fault line between civilizations. 3.To accept diversities of civilizations and look for a universal aspects of human being, not in a civilization.

Discussion

  • I’m thinking to change Japanese civilization by adding globalization essence. U.S is the example of Western one with globalization. Singapore is the example of Chinese one with globalization, then how is the Japanese one? That is what I want to show.

Conclusion

Today, I’ve introduced The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, which describes

Next, let me introduce Tragic Design from Zenport Book Club #91.
