The 101 Guide for UI/UX, but, shorter.
Before it All
Before the UI/UX design begins, we will lay out the fundamental understanding of the product. We will draft a product journey that helps everyone to understand and provide feedback as the product grows. This helps everyone to be part of the product birth without missing feedback out.
Our UI/UX process is simple and precise.
Product Definition
There is a saying that goes: If people cannot understand the product, the product is complicated. That is why we define and refine the product in a clear and concise manner before work. And, to design experience that requires the least effort to understand.
We will proceed by finding out key aspects of the product: Who is it for? Why should it exist? How does it work? Where can be improved? And, determining the best value propositions for the users. This includes understanding the features and creating an experience that reflects the brand and customers.
Competitive Research
After defining the product ideas, we will conduct product research on users and the market. It is important to understand the demography of the users and the current trend. Winning is a part of the formula for successful design, this includes winning the heart of users and stand out among the competition. And, conducting competitive research to find out the comprehensive analysis of a competitor’s product and mapping out their existing features in a comparable way.
Playing the Character
We love playing the role of a customer. We want to experience the difference between the product existence and non-existent. Drafting personas of different people with a unique background. We do not assume how the customers will react to your product. The fact is, no one knows entirely.
We overcome this by conducting user stories development. Adding their story alongside the product and how they are going to experience it. The purpose of personas helps to create reliable and realistic representations of the key audience. Not only it guides the product in the right direction, it also prevents bias among the team.
For example, John is a 27-year-old designer who works remotely from work. As a designer, John wants to be able to showcase his designs and communicate with developers without causing misunderstanding. John then discovers ReqFire, it is a design tool helps developers to understand product journey and experience, and, it prevents future potential technical debts.
The Design
After the discovery process and learning more about the target audience. The design will start to come to life through the refined ideas and sketches. From the beginning to the end of the design, there will be stand-ups and exchange of ideas as the design matures. And, working with developers to ensure the design execution is doable.
The Art
If UX is the blueprint, UI and illustrations are the appearances. We help research and create the art style that fits the brand and its design flow. Art style varies by brand and target audience.
Design Tools Used: Sketch, Abstract, Flowmapp and InVision.
