The world of art has been transformed, enabling new forms of expression owing to the new tools provided by technology. The caesura between digital and traditional art is constantly evolving, creating as many divisions as it generates similarities. Different Mediums
Digital and traditional art differ in terms of the way they are created and the mediums utilised to generate artworks. Traditional art relies heavily on tangible materials such as paper, canvas, (coloured) pencils, various types of paint, liners, clay, and other objects. Conversely, digital art takes advantage of technological advancement, using tailored software and hardware (touchscreen laptops with a stylus, graphic tablets, 3D printing technology, AR/VR hardware and software, graphic programs and apps) requiring basic technical knowledge from their users.
