Zenysis is ready to help countries harness the power of big data and advanced analytics to vaccinate their citizens efficiently and equitably. Our delivery model incorporates intensive capacity building and the option of an open source software solution. We have strategic partnerships with the GAVI Alliance and The Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Our software is currently used in 10 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to deliver national health programs and emergency vaccination campaigns in an equitable, efficient and data-driven way.

Data Interoperability and Advanced Analytics for COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout

Data Interoperability. Public health entities use Zenysis software to quickly integrate data from fragmented information systems into a single, easy-to-use platform for analysis, visualization and decision making.

Advanced Analytics. The platform provides decision-makers access to real-time, high-resolution analytics and visualizations that are configured to their needs. These capabilities can be used to estimate vaccine demand, develop data-driven vaccination strategies, create targeted micro-plans and guide operational decision making.

Customizable Dashboards. The platform’s customizable dashboards can be used to monitor COVID-19 cases, vaccine logistics and supply chains, vaccination program performance, resource wastage and more.

Automated Insights and Alerts. Receive automated insights about trends and correlations that support your analysis. Set up automated alerts to track vaccination progress, vaccine safety, adverse events and more. Receive real-time alerts within the platform and via text message or email.

Automated Reporting. Countries use Zenysis software to streamline and automate reporting, including reporting to funders like GAVI and The Global Fund, which allows staff to focus on higher-value work.

Fighting COVID-19 in Sindh Province, Pakistan

In March 2020, the Government of Sindh announced its first confirmed case of COVID-19. As the number of cases grew, so did the amount of data being reported to the government on a daily basis from different testing sites, laboratories, health facilities and hospitals.

The Government of Sindh engaged Zenysis to integrate 12 data sources into a Virtual Control Room to improve situational awareness and enable a rapid, data-driven and effective response to the outbreak.

Decision-makers used the Virtual Control Room to make informed decisions about where to send patients in need of critical care, optimize the allocation of lifesaving resources, such as PPE and ventilators, and implement targeted lockdowns to control the spread of the virus. The platform is now being used to strengthen the delivery of routine immunization across Sindh.

The confidence of all our administrative heads increased many fold after we started using data [from the platform]. We were able to save so many lives.

— District Commissioner, Sindh Province

Launching an Emergency Vaccination Campaign in Mozambique

In March and April 2019, Cyclones Idai and Kenneth made landfall in Mozambique. The cyclones destroyed infrastructure, killed hundreds of people and triggered a devastating cholera outbreak.

A rapid public health response was hampered by a fragmented data landscape, which deprived decision makers of the timely and accurate information they needed to respond.

Within 24 hours, Zenysis worked with Mozambique’s National Institute of Health to integrate multiple data sources into a new Virtual Control Room for the emergency response.

The Minister of Health and others used the platform to quantify demand for vaccines, determine the location of cholera vaccination sites and regularly update the public and coordinate partners.

Mozambique’s data-driven approach to the outbreak reduced the number of cholera cases in the most affected province from 400 new cases per day to zero in one month.

Improving COVID-19 Data Transparency in Brazil

In 2020, the Ministry of Health in Brazil engaged Zenysis and Vital Strategies to improve the transparency and visibility of public health data during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Using Zenysis’ open-source Harmony Platform, the Ministry of Health integrated data from different information systems to create a publicly-accessible Excess Mortality Monitoring Dashboard. This dashboard provides the public with an estimate of the full impact of COVID-19 on mortality at the population level in their region, state and state capital.

The dashboard is a major step towards improving the availability and transparency of public health data in Brazil.
