University of Manitoba Chooses Zepheira to Convert Catalogue, Collections to Linked Data

Feb 16, 2016 · 2 min read

16 February 2016 — — Zepheira has signed the University of Manitoba to its Early Adopter for Academic Libraries Linked Data service. The University is now working with Zepheira to convert its MARC catalogue into linked data and publish it to the Web to increase the visibility of the library’s resources.

“Publishing our catalogue as linked data to the Web will help our students and researchers find our resources no matter where they begin their search,” explained Les Moor, Head of Technical Services at University of Manitoba Libraries. “Linked data allows our faculty, students, and researchers to use popular search engines like Google to find our resources. As a result, we take a big step towards closing a giant discovery gap.”

Public Libraries and now Academic Libraries are taking steps towards greater library visibility on the Web. Contact John “JR” Richardson for more information on how Zepheira can help your library become more visible on the Web.
