Celebrating 2 million users — with a dark twist
Since our launch, we’ve watched the Zeplin community grow at an astonishing rate. Every year, we have the pleasure of working with thousands of new, innovative teams, and get to see the fantastic products they build. Today we’re thrilled to share a new milestone in our journey, Zeplin is now being used by over 2 million people.
Giving back
In the spirit of this milestone, we want to celebrate with you by building something new. Since the release of macOS Mojave, we’ve been hearing motivating feedback from you to support Dark Mode.
As a token of our appreciation to our community, and to celebrate, we’re happy to announce Dark Mode for our macOS app. 🌒
Easy on your eyes
Working with a few apps on Light Mode amongst the sea of Dark Mode apps can be unpleasant. We want teams to collaborate in the theme they find most comfortable. So, we’ve crafted our Dark Mode in a familiar way, elements have been redesigned when appropriate, making use of new macOS Mojave features like Desktop Tinting.
We collaborated on this redesign using Zeplin, Zeplin’ception one could say. Zeplin is now easier and more fun to read on Dark Mode.
Getting started
To try out Dark Mode, simply install the latest version of Zeplin, 2.3, on macOS Mojave. By default, Zeplin will automatically adjust to your system-wide appearance setting, which can be set up from System Preferences, under the General tab.
Additionally, Zeplin will also use the system-wide Accent color setting in various elements throughout the app.
If you wish to not inherit the system-wide appearance setting and change the appearance of Zeplin alone, you can do that as well. Within Zeplin, you can pick your preferred appearance from the menu up top, under View ˃ Appearance. For example, this lets you use Zeplin in dark, while using macOS in light.
We hope you’re as excited as we are for Dark Mode — update Zeplin and let us know! Ping us at support@zeplin.io if you have any questions.
Cheers. 👋
