Download thousands of PDFs from iFormBuilder (How-To)
PDFs are a familiar format for just about everyone that has ever used a computer, and it is quite natural to have digital information represented this way. Getting your iFormBuilder data into a PDF format is quite simple and only requires a few clicks on the screen, so why am I writing this post?
Imagine that you need to generate hundreds or thousands of files for historic records across many forms with custom naming and organize everything in folders. Maybe you even need to filter for specific records in each form looking at values in both the parent and child levels. You could sit down for the long haul and do all of this manually, or we can leverage some APIs and let the machines do all the hard work.
This post will introduce an open source command line utility that allows you to get everything you need and get up and running in about ten minutes. Have a look at the video below to see the utility in action and download the latest code from the release section here
The video below will cover the following points in just under six minutes, so it’s worth a watch if you are still not sure how this can help you.
0:00–1:30 ( Overview / Getting Organized)
1:30–2:30 ( Setting up access / permissions)
2:30–4:00 ( Configuring the form details )
4:00–5:42 ( Running the utility and viewing the output)
