It’s time.

More than two years since opening our waitlist, we’ve finally done what you may have thought we’d never do…

Today, Zero is launching to our first public customers. I’m exceedingly proud to share this news with you. Our growing team in San Francisco and Walnut Creek, California is working tirelessly, on a 24/7 basis, delivering what we believe is the best banking experience ever created.

We’ve built a product that reimagines everything about your bank, from how you become a customer to how you interact with your money.

The enthusiasm for Zero has been exciting and at times overwhelming. Some of you have reached out with questions including when we’d launch and how Zero would work. We couldn’t respond to many of these questions without sharing information we couldn’t yet make public. I am sorry we didn’t get back to you sooner. Now that we’ve launched, you can and should expect us to do better. To fulfill our mission of delivering uncompromising value to customers, we spent time with many potential partners before finalizing the great partnerships we have today with Mastercard, WebBank, and Evolve Bank & Trust, among others. I’m proud to say that we are now, to my knowledge, the first Fintech startup to launch both a checking account and a credit card, not to mention to also integrate them in a novel way to deliver a debit-style experience. We’ve built a product that reimagines everything about your bank, from how you become a customer to how you interact with your money. We’ve created an experience that we hope sets a new standard for how rewarding banking can be.

Zerocard Carbon

The first modern banking experience to combine the simplicity of a debit card with the cash back of a credit card, Zero is powered by a checking account (Zero Checking) to hold your money, a credit card (Zerocard) that makes great rewards possible, and the Zero app, which combines things seamlessly.

Zerocard has no annual fee and provides unlimited cash back with no category restrictions at a higher rate than many other credit cards in the U.S. market, earning 1.0% with the entry-level Quartz card, and 3.0% with the top-tier Carbon card. Zero Checking is a fee-free, FDIC-insured checking account that lets you earn rewards of up to 1.75% annually on average Current Position (your deposits minus your spending) at the Carbon level — other levels earn less. If you haven’t already unlocked Carbon by sharing your waitlist referral link, you can level up by meeting annual spend requirements or referring friends to become Zero customers. You can learn more in the Zerocard Agreement.

Now that we’re launching, once your waitlist position is reached, it will be my honor to invite you to apply, use Zero, and share your feedback with us and with the world. Some people who are high on the waitlist will be receiving application information soon. For others, we’ll be extending invitations in the next couple of months, so a little more patience may still be required. If you’re not on the waitlist yet, it’s not too late to sign up at zero.app, which will expedite your access.

We promise to keep you well updated from now on. We will be listening closely and responding to each and every one of your questions and comments, on a 24/7 basis. Zero is currently available for iPhone users and we have plans to release an Android version in the future. If you haven’t yet, confirm your spot, download Zero from the App Store, and sign in with your email, which bumps you ahead of anyone who doesn’t confirm and allows us to notify you as soon as it’s your turn to apply.

It has been a tremendous journey getting to this point. I’m thrilled to say that we are just getting started in bringing you Banking with Zero Compromises.
