Warning! The steps outlined may have changed since this guide was produced.

In order to sell, use or store ZeroCarbon Tokens on your own ETH wallet you will first need to withdraw them from your ZCC Online Wallet. This tutorial takes a user through this process.

Remember you have to earn ZCCs before you can withdraw them NOT including the 10 ZCCs you receive for signing up. It was designed this way to make the minimum transfer economic relative to the associated gas cost as explained in the white paper. But a more practical reason is to avoid the risk of bad actors registering many times to earn many ZCC tokens. For more information on how you can earn them see our past blog post — https://medium.com/zero-carbon-project/faq-zerocarbon-token-rewards-c7e5a03f0e9a

To start, login to your consumer portal at market.zerocarbonproject.com and proceed to the ZeroCarbon token (ZCC) section shown below.

You are able to see the amount of ZCCs you can withdraw by the amount displayed in the “Available” box and you can see your current saved ETH address next to “Wallet Address”.

To withdraw your available ZCC tokens, press on the “Transfer” box and the below pop up window should appear.

The address displayed previously in “Wallet Address” should be the one displayed under “Target ZeroCarbon wallet address”. If you want to send them to another address insert it here and double check the address (we would recommend double-checking the address through a block explorer such as Etherscan). Once you have double checked your wallet address enter the amount you want to withdraw under “Amount of ZeroCarbon token to transfer” and once you are happy with everything press “Request transfer”.

When you have requested the transfer a confirmation email will be sent to the email registered to the account so ensure to verify the transaction through the email as the tokens will not be transferred until this is done.

Once you have verified the transaction you’re done! We batch transactions together to reduce the gas cost but you won’t be waiting for longer than a week for your ZCCs and will receive an email when the transaction has been completed.
