Imagine this.

It’s Inauguration Day.

And instead of the oath of the presidency being taken in Washington, D.C. the media gathers outside a New York State Prison as Donald Trump takes his oath of office.

He would swear to faithfully execute the office of the president while behind bars.

Will this happen?

Probably not.

But it’s nice to dream.

Donald Trump was found guilty of falsifying business records and is guilty of 34 counts of fraud.

Technically under New York State law he could go to prison for as many as four years.

However most legal experts agree that he will not see the inside of a jail cell, especially after his electoral victory.

“I think the most likely outcome in the state case is the judge putting off sentencing until after Trump’s term in office,” said Daniel Charles Richman, a professor at Columbia Law School.

In a few days Justice Jaun Merchan will decide whether or not to throw out Trump’s case.
