UPDATE FROM ZKValidator: This past month, we went online with our Polkadot validator nodes and are now part of the active set! This brings the number of networks we validate on to three: we have been live on Cosmos for the last 10 months and on Kusama for the last 5.

You can find the nodes as well as instructions for nominating the ZKValidator on Polkadot here: https://zkvalidator.com/polkadot

The ZKValidator is unique in the validator space, in that it acts as a community-driven Privacy & Zero Knowledge research advocacy group. Our goal is to focus on this singular topic across networks we work on.

As a nominator, you should add the ZKValidator to your nomination list (see instructions here) if you:

  1. Would like to see more user privacy on the network
  2. Want to help raise the priority of privacy and zero knowledge tech on these networks
  3. Believe that privacy is important for the adoption of these networks by the wider community
  4. Believe that privacy is key to enterprise adoption of these networks

We are very excited to be part of the Polkadot/Kusama networks right from launch. The dynamics of being a validator are very different in each network, and Polkadot’s unique nPoS scheme, Phragmen and on-chain governance offer some new ways for us to engage.

Later this month, we have our first workshop planned with our initial Polkadot/Kusama working group. The initial group consists of core devs, community members and some external project representatives working on Polkadot. However, after this initial meeting, we hope to expand the working group to include other projects building privacy technology, validators and specifically zero knowledge proof technology — so do reach out if this is relevant to you!

Our goal with the workshop is to create an initial Baseline report that is similar to that which we produced for Cosmos here. We will be exploring governance and processes, network priorities, zero knowledge on the network and existing privacy research.

If you want to support the initiative, and help accelerate use of zero knowledge for privacy and scaling on Polkadot, please add these validations to your nomination set:

We also plan on putting ourselves forward for the council, so stay tuned for that. See you in the Polkasphere!
