The Best NBA2K17 Players Under 70 Rating

We’ve all been there. 13th round pick in a Fantasy MyLeague draft, wondering who’s worth taking. When it’s slim pickings, grab any of these 7 players under a 70 rating for a surprising addition to your squad.

Most Badges under 70: Luke Gregory (68 overall, 13 badges) and My’khail Thomas (68 overall, 12 badges).

Despite incredible badge distribution, you won’t find Luke or My’khail on any NBA rosters this season. These two players became 2Kers through the Make-A-Wish program, a wonderful initiative that brought some brave kids into the game. What’s more — their digital selves can play. They’re both 6'4" or taller point guards sporting Gold Ankle Breaker and Gold Pick & Roll Maestro Badges, flanked with healthy amounts of athleticism & shooting. Forget third-string — these guys are probably rotation players.

Best Shooter under 70: James Jones (69 overall SF/PF)

James 7-Straight-Finals-With-Lebron Jones doesn’t miss from range. Between a Gold Corner Specialist Badge, 90 Open Shot Three, and 88 Contested Shot Three, Jones can sit outside and stretch defenses with alarming ease. Luke Gregory & My’khail Thomas are right behind him.

Best Rebounder under 70: Alex Stepheson (66 overall C/PF)

Alex is nearly straight F’s down the board, minus that key A+ Rebounding grade. 86 Offensive Rebound & 87 Defensive Rebound ratings are tremendous, though an empty badge cabinet hurts his stock a bit. That C Post Defense rating makes him more playable if you’re running a three center rotation, but 2K has so many serviceable 5’s that he’s probably not worth drafting.

Other Notable Players Under 70

• Malik Beasley (69 SG). At 6'5" with an 85 Driving Dunk, Beasley’s got the height and athleticism to go at higher-rated SGs, made even stronger by that 85 Free Throw rating. A serviceable 77 Open Three means you can’t leave him alone, either.
• K.J. McDaniels (69 SG/SF). Gold Lob City Finisher. Gold Posterizer. 6'6" SG. McDaniels’ value is pretty clear from those points alone. He’s an even-more-one-dimensional Gerald Green. Put him at the SF and streak him up court for easy dunks. Don’t expect anything else, though — very weak mid-range and three-point ratings.
• Brice Johnson (69 PF/C). That Gold Brick Wall Badge has extreme value for any team running pick & rolls (which, this is 2K — we’re all doing exactly that). 5 other badges, an 83 Driving Dunk, and 85 Vertical make Brice a mini-DeAndre.
