Jocelyn Goldfein

As we start Fund II, we are very pleased that Jocelyn Goldfein agreed to join Zetta as our third partner.

Jocelyn can provide guidance on every part of building a company, from hiring engineers to pricing software and much more. Jocelyn managed some of the best engineering teams in the world as Engineering Director at Facebook, where she worked on major updates to news feed, mobile, photos, search and questions. There, she also spent a year overhauling Facebook’s approach to technical recruiting. Jocelyn also managed a significant ($150M) business at VMWare as General Manager during an explosive growth phase. Jocelyn guides 24 companies today as a respected board partner or angel investor, and is transitioning to doing so full-time for Zetta’s portfolio companies. She will be a very strong board member and partner to entrepreneurs.

Jocelyn’s experience gives her broad expertise and comfort with many different styles of shipping software, products and entrepreneurs. She is passionate about applying management disciplines like hiring, coaching, team building, organizational design and culture to software engineering teams. We’ve spent a lot of time together with entrepreneurs and Jocelyn is constantly providing new ideas, a deeper understanding and complementary views around the table when making investment decisions. Jocelyn’s perspective will help us figure out who to support and how to support them.

Her beliefs match our beliefs: that a company with just 5–10 great software engineers, nudged in the right direction by the best partners, can solve a multitude of the world’s most important problems. Jocelyn’s guidance will dramatically increase the chances of our portfolio companies’ success and lead us to form many new partnerships with world-class entrepreneurs.
