All you need to know about ZIG on POLYGON and more…
We recently made two important developments towards chain interoperability; migration of ZIG to the Binance smart chain, and an announcement around developing an ‘open-to-all-projects’ Zignaly bridge. Continuing with our efforts to make chain interoperability a breeze, we are excited to announce that ZIG is now live on Polygon (also known as ‘Matic mainnet’), as promised. In other words, the Zignaly bridge now supports polygon — apart from that, the utility has undergone great UI/UX updates. With three chains live, ZIG holders may now migrate from “any chain to any chain”, and this guide will demonstrate just that.

ZIG on Polygon — the Whys & the Hows?
In our search for highly efficient and scalable blockchains, Polygon has always been one of the stronger candidates. With exponential growth in transactions and TVL on several different AMMs, the time seemed just right to let ZIG holders benefit from yet another blockchain, taking the total count to three.
The process of migrating ZIG to Polygon (or any other chain) is quite simple, and this guide will take you through it. However, if you’re a first-time user, we highly recommend you go through our ERC20-BSC migration blog, too.
Setting up Metamask, Polygon network, and adding ZIG as a custom token
Step 1) Install Metamask
We assume that you already have Metamask setup, but if you don’t — go to www.metamask.io and select from Android or iOS for mobile application or select Chrome for desktop. (Source: https://metamask.io/faqs.html)
Step 2) Add Polygon network to Metamask
Like BSC, Polygon network is not available by default on Metamask, this step will demonstrate how to add it manually.
Open the Metamask browser extension to begin.
Expand the network selection menu and select ‘Custom RPC’.
Use the configurations shared below to populate the custom RPC form and click ‘Save’:
Network Name: Matic Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network/
Chain ID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.matic.network/
Once done, ‘Matic Mainnet’ should appear in the Network list.
(Note: Matic mainnet and Polygon are two different names for the same network.)
Step 3) Adding ZIG as a custom token on the Matic mainnet:
Assuming you’ve already set up and configured ZIG on BSC and Ethereum mainnet, we’ll proceed with adding ZIG to the Matic mainnet:
ZIG Polygon address: 0x7bebd226154e865954a87650faefa8f485d36081
Token symbol: ZIG
Decimal: 18
(Note: ‘Token symbol’ and ‘Decimal’ should be automatically detected upon entering the correct token contract address)
Setting up the Bridge and Permissions
Step 4) Connecting Metamask to Bridge:
Go to https://bridge.zignaly.com/
Click ‘Connect Wallet’ on the top right corner.
At this point, the wallet is connected to the Bridge.
Step 5) Granting Permission to the Bridge
To proceed with the migration, the bridge must have relevant permissions to spend ZIG. To do so, switch to each network and click “Approve” followed by “Confirm” on the Metamask popup. Example screenshots attached:
(Note: If this is the first time that you’re using the bridge, you will need to Approve Metamask to spend ZIG on all the networks. To do that, refer to Step 6 here.)
Jumping ships
Step 6) Migrating ZIG from BSC to Polygon — (or any chain to any chain):
In this example, we’re migrating ZIG coin from BSC to Polygon. Hence, we’ve selected ‘BSC’ on the ‘FROM’ box (left side), and ‘Polygon’ on the ‘TO’ box (right side):
Now, all that’s left to do is ‘Switch Network’ and ‘Claim’:
Once the network is switched to Matic mainnet, proceed to “Claim” the tokens against a nominal MATIC network gas fee, and confirm the Metamask pop up, as shown below:
At this point, your ZIG tokens are successfully migrated to the Matic mainnet, and the balance should reflect accordingly on the bridge and wallet.
In case you want to move your ZIG to another chain — Let’s say Ethereum mainnet:
Moving your ZIG back to Ethereum mainnet (or BSC) is as easy as moving them to Polygon.
To initiate the process, select your desired network in the ‘TO’ box, while the network in metamask is set on the Matic mainnet. In this example, we’ll be moving our ZIG to the Ethereum mainnet.
At this point, “Switch Network” and Proceed to “Claim” your ZIG on Ethereum mainnet.
Upon confirming the transaction, ZIG should appear in Ethereum Mainnet assets.
