In your opinion, what is the biggest news in the crypto industry in in 2018? And why?
- Bear market 2018
Bitcoin hitting new all-time highs and record ICO returns in 2017 saw a lot of new investors blindly rush into the Crypto industry. Unfortunately 2018 saw Bitcoin and the majority of altcoins lose over 80% in value from their 2017 all-time highs which has hurt a lot of new investors in the market.
Do you have any predictions for 2019? And why?
- ICO’s will continue to struggle in 2019 as the bear market continues. Regulation will also see more emphasis on Security Token Offerings (STOs) this year.
- 2018 will bear witness to the longest crypto bear market most investors will have experienced but we still see Bitcoin hitting a lower low than in 2018. With the next bitcoin halving expected to happen in 2020, historically, the halving starts getting priced in approximately one year before it happens, which would result in bitcoin bottoming out in early 2019 followed by a rally starting before we enter 2020.
