A Blockchain Ecosystem of Digital Creative Assets

As we prepare for the release of our Whitepaper in relation to the forthcoming Zimrii ICO, we thought we would share some of the main points of the Zimrii Ecosystem

What is the Zimrii Ecosystem?

Zimrii’s focus is to tackle some of the issues that exists in both the music and film industries for creators with regards to :

• Copyright attribution — that is ensuring that music and film creators are able to receive the maximum receipt of royalties that are due to them as a result of consumers interacting with their music /film creations and/or other media stakeholders
• Licencing — the ability to specify the appropriate licence terms on which content is utilized which benefits the holder of that licence
• The mechanics of Live Performance —providing an efficient mechanism for musicians to play more gigs
• Increasing a musicians or Band’s Fan base — Developing innovative ways to cultivate a new fan base or reward an existing fan base
• Film Financing — Offering new mechanics into the financing of films

What are we solving for?

Currently, there are several issues that prevent music and film creatives from exploiting the assets they produce and realising their full market potential:

• Business terms. In the vast majority of cases, business terms are being dictated to the artists who are not able to negotiate a more equitable arrangement.

• Technology companies. The large technology companies in the music industry have developed proprietary, centralised creative platforms to drive their businesses. They use these platforms to govern the rules of operation.

• Asset control. There is a marked lack of control by creatives over the mechanics of distribution of their digital assets.

• Creatives reward. Creatives are often rewarded at the end of the value chain of the digital music industry.

• Film Financing. Development funding is hard to achieve leading to a dearth of original, thought provoking content which engage audiences.

• Collaboration reward and recognition. The current setup in the music industry does not enable artists to reward or recognise others who have collaborated in the creative process.

What is the potential ?

According to IFPI, a company that tracks statistics in the global music industry, the globally recorded music sales in 2015 were $15 billion. Independent artists and labels accounted for 37.5 percent of sales, or $5.6 billion. In 2016, this share had risen to $6bn

The global entertainment and media market generated $1.8 tn of value in 2016. This is anticipated to rise to $2.2 tn by 2021 (an 22% increase). For the past 15 years, the number of films released has accelerated to a high of 12,817 films in 2017.

A significant number of independent films go unnoticed and unreported, but its estimated that the total number of independent films produced each year could be 50,000

How are we driving value in the Zimrii (ZIM) Token?

We are driving value in the Zimrii token in four unique ways. Described below are first two mechanisms:

Payments

Music and film fans will be able to use the Zimrii tokens as a payment mechanism to purchase content from their favorite music artists or film makers on the platform. Furthermore, the token can also be used to participate in crowd-funding campaigns to support those music and film creators seeking to produce new music/film content or marketing their creations.

Rewards

Music and Film makers will be able to offer rewards to fans and consumers who hold Zimrii tokens.

These rewards, as determined by the creators, will offer discounts, VIP tickets, and other exclusive screenings and merchandise to encourage fans to purchase Zimrii tokens and take advantage of the exclusive offers.

Where we are now?

Product

• Currently in a closed Beta program with users actively using the platform and provding valubale feedback as we shape the product/market fit

ICO

• Plans are progressing for the Zimrii ICO. Private sale is tentatively scheduled for end of May 2018 with the public sale forecasted to be held in Mid June 2018
