Why don’t you prove it? Zinc launches first ‘work proof’ at ETHBerlin.

The backbone of our work here at Zinc is to ‘revolutionise hiring’ and as we continue to make progress with building our product, we’re moving closer to making a real impact on the way recruiters and workers will interact in the future.

As we strive to remove many of the existing pain points in the world of referencing, we have also been looking at how we can use blockchain technology to provide progressive and compelling ways to build and enhance work profiles.

One of these is ‘work proofs’. Imagine a place that workers can immutably store and document work-related information. Information that isn’t necessarily linked directly to past employment but that lends to their credibility as a candidate. For example, courses attended or reaching the final round for a role within a high profile company. This valuable and time-consuming information contributes towards an individual’s overall skill set but has previously never been collected. Thanks to the work we are doing at Zinc, this is set to change.

And today, it becomes a reality as we launch the first in our portfolio of ‘work proof’ tools at ETHBerlin. Zinc’s new ‘work proof’ is a real-time way for instructors and course leaders to award attendees with proof of their attendance and level of engagement. We’ve created some instructions on how to make the most of the tool here:

We’re thrilled to be able to implement this groundbreaking element of the Zinc toolkit at ETH Berlin. Giving attendees the opportunity to collect ‘proofs’ of their attendance is the first step in creating their Zinc work passport. By building up these ‘proofs’ alongside more traditional references, workers will finally have a way to document events and courses they attend that showcase their dedication and ambition beyond the ‘day job’, creating a more rounded work profile.

And as workers build up their Zinc profile, there is an opportunity to monetise their data by choosing to share it with recruiters in reward for ZINC tokens. We will be working on this functionality in the coming months and look forward to sharing more very soon.
