Solving customer problems is like Chinese Whispers

Every Friday, our team plays games.

We have this Friday fun time activity called ‘Guftagu’ to unwind from our busy work schedule, and last week, we played a game called Gartic Phone.

The rules are simple: The first person writes a sentence and passes it on to the second.

The second person draws a picture based on the prompt received and passes the drawing to the third.

The third person describes the drawing with another sentence and passes it on.

This goes on until all players have had a turn, with people writing and drawing alternatively.

At the end, the original prompt and the final drawing are revealed, often resulting in hilarious and unexpected outcomes.

It’s an interesting one based on the classic Chinese whispers, where players whisper a message from one person to another, and it often gets distorted along the way.

For your amusement, here are some examples of how prompts like “Nike Logo” and “I love cars” evolved to “Lost the Key” and “Happy Birthday” respectively. Do check out the funny images below.

But why am I talking about this now?

When we started working on Zipy AI a few years ago, this was the kind of problem we wanted to solve for software teams.

Imagine a scenario where your product, customer success, support, and development teams are all working in silos to address the same customer issue.

🌟 The customer starts the conversation, expressing their concerns and needs.

🗣️ But as the message travels from one team to another, it undergoes a transformation, much like the game of Chinese whispers.

💬 What the customer initially communicated may get lost in translation, misunderstood, or misinterpreted along the way.

🤔 The support team might interpret the issue differently, conveying a slightly altered message to the product team.

🔍 By the time the message reaches the development team, crucial details may have been lost, leading to a disconnect between what the customer expects and what the team delivers.

Now, envision a different scenario: one where all teams are aligned and working together seamlessly.

In this setup, there are no silos, and communication flows freely between teams and customers, and everybody involved is on the same page, with a single source of truth.

🚀 And that is Zipy.

In a way, with Zipy, we are solving the problem of #ChineseWhispers between teams while they solve customer problems more effectively and proactively.

In today’s fast-paced and competitive landscape, the key to success lies in building bridges between teams and putting the customer at the center of everything we do.

By breaking down the barriers between teams, companies can deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive long-term loyalty and satisfaction.
