Fundraising Focus: Swedish animal ambulance charity reaches 1million SEK!
Svenska Djurambulansen crowdfunded money for a new ambulance to transport our four-legged (or winged!) friends
Svenska Djurambulansen (the Swedish Animal Ambulance) initially ran a one-off crowdfunding campaign with us a couple of years ago, so we were delighted when they chose to use Zohero again for a long-term campaign with monthly giving.
This time their aim is to buy two new animal ambulances to continue their daily work helping animals in need.
In their first month alone they collected 390,000 SEK (£36,500) from the public which was match-funded by their anonymous donor and hero ‘Bertil’ who doubles all contributions up to a half million SEK. However, subsequent contributions in 2017 have now pushed them to an impressive 1 million SEK (£93,500)! You can visit their fund page here.
We spoke with the founder of the Svenska Djurambulansen, Camilla Larsson about the benefits she sees about working with us:
Why did you choose to use the Association Fundraising for this campaign?
We previously used Zohero/Forenings Insamling for a successful campaign and our partnership worked very well and was easy and secure, therefore it seemed obvious to use the service again!
What Zohero features have been particularly useful and effective for you?
We cannot offer card payments or SMS giving ourselves, so this has been essential for us. To be able to see in real time the progress of the collection is really positive too — it’s visible for both donors and volunteers and makes fundraising more transparent. It is also so easy to get started which is definitely another factor at play.
What advice can you give to other organisations that are looking to start a campaign with Zohero?
Prepare! Have your rewards ready, and have think about any issues that may arise when you start so you have immediate answers when the donors ask, you don’t want to lose any reputation by being disorganised. Think about who in your team is going to manage the page and keep it updated. Prepare your marketing properly in advance.
