Zone of Avoidance Partners with NFT Rental Service, Double Protocol
Today we bring you our new partnership with an exciting piece of critical NFT infrastructure, Double Protocol. Double is a fully decentralized, open-source NFT rental protocol and marketplace for metaverse and GameFi assets. Having already partnered with some of the biggest names in the space like Decentraland, ENS, and Polygon Studious, and with backing from Binance Labs’ Incubation Program, Double is set to become the base layer infrastructure for the rental of assets in all decentralized games and metaverses.
Double Protocol proposes a new ERC token standard called ERC-4907, which, among other things, offers the “expires()” function that automatically revokes the borrower’s rights to the token. This offers improved security when compared to other solutions, while also removing any gas fees from this part of the process. As part of our partnership with Double, we’ll be integrating their technology into Zone of Avoidance to allow players to rent in-game assets to other players. This gives our community a safe way to earn tokens without needing to sell their beloved items and/or characters. In fact, Double’s innovative new token standard will even allow for subletting, meaning you’ll be able to rent out items you’re renting off someone else!
We always knew rentals would play a major part in the Zone of Avoidance ecosystem, and with Double, we’re able to offer our community an incredibly flexible and secure way to do so trusted by some of the biggest names in the space.
