TB10s Dubai highlights

ZONE partnered with Tie Break Tens as the title sponsor of TB10s, Dubai. The event was hosted at City Walk’s Coca-Cola Arena on the evening of 22nd October 2021 featuring many of the world’s favorite tennis players such as Taylor Fritz, Dustin Brown, Dan Evans, Gael Monfils, and Ramkumar Ramanathan.

ZONE also hosted ‘The Ultimate ZONE Play Challenge,’ a 2-day FIFA21 PS4 challenge between tennis legends Taylor Fritz, Gael Monfils, and the eSports FIFA champion, Musaed Dossary. The prize? Rare AFK Elephants NFTs!

The eSports challenge ran on 21st and 22nd October 2021 alongside the Tie Break Tens tennis tournament in Dubai’s Coca Cola Arena.

It was the first time that eSports met with sports in such a major showpiece event, thanks to the partnership between ZONE and Tie Break Tens Dubai.

ZONE is bringing revolutionary blockchain concepts to the world of fantasy sports and eSports and turning the gaming industry on its head.

TIE BREAK TENS

Tie Break Tens brings world-class tennis players head to head in fast-paced, short-form knock-out tournaments at prestigious venues around the world for huge, winner-takes-all prizes. There are no games, no sets — just tie breaks; first to ten.

On 22nd October, Dubai’s Tie Break Tens event saw tennis stars including Taylor Fritz, Dustin Brown, Dan Evans, Gael Monfils, and Ramkumar Ramanathan competing against each other.

Belgian tennis champion Zizou Bergs walked away with the winning prize of 500,000 AED.

What was different about this tournament, however, was the added eSports challenge running alongside tennis.

The Ultimate ZONE Play Challenge

Monfils and Fritz are no strangers to gaming. Monfils is an active gaming streamer with 150,000 followers on Twitch — regularly battling it out in Fortnite, Warzone, and FIFA.

Fritz streams on Twitch as well. On his page, he claims to be “One of the best athlete gamers in the world, with over $600k in charity gaming tournament earnings.”

Fritz has also identified the massive potential of eSports. He recently became one of the biggest names in tennis to invest in eSports with an investment into ReKTGlobal, a global eSports business that owns two organizations: London Royal Ravens and Rogue.

The third competitor was eSports FIFA champion Musaed Dossary. The 20-year-old Saudi Arabian, also known as MSDossary7, has won the FUT Champions Cup three times. His Red Bull profile page calls him ‘one of the most followed and watched FIFA players in the world.’

The trio competed in a No Rules FIFA21 match with every player going against one other on day one at the La Ville Hotel, Dubai on 21st October. The winners of the day one matches had their final matches on 22nd October at the Coca-Cola Arena.

Full FIFA matches are going to be on our Youtube Channel, XTZ ESPORTS soon.

NFTs As Prizes For The First Time

The Ultimate Zone Play FIFA challenge was won by Musaed Dossary with Taylor Fritz as runner-up. The NFTs were presented by H.H. Sheikh Humaid Bin Khalid Al Qasimi sheikh of Ras Al Khaimah. He was joined by Adi K Mishra, CEO of ZONE, Habib Chams, CEO of XTZ Esports Tech Limited and Mohamed Al Banna, Group CEO & Managing Director at LEAD Ventures.

This was the first time NFTs have been awarded as prizes at a mainstream event. The Ultimate ZONE Play Challenge winner walked away with an ultra-valuable, rare AFK Elephant and so did the runner up!

ZONE CEO Adi Mishra said, “Nothing has ever been done like this before. We [had] two of the most popular tennis players in the world face off against the reigning FIFA esports champ for an AFK Elephant NFT.”

The Zone Podcast
The Zone is a weekly podcast that hosts top eSports and gaming personalities, athletes, influencers, and industry professionals to explore the world of eSports. Before the FIFA and Tie Break Tens matches, Taylor Fritz, Gael Monfils, Musaed Dossary and Zone CEO Adi K Mishra joined the CEO of XTZ Esports, Habib Chams on the Zone podcast. During the podcast, they discuss following their dreams, gaming, crypto, NFTs and the multiple crossovers between eSports and sports.

Mishra also describes the Zone platform for Monfils, and the ability to challenge others for money. Monfils and Fritz joke about how Zone could really come in handy on the ATP tour. Mishra then sets the bait for Monfils, telling him that if he really thinks he is so good at FIFA, he could come on Zone and challenge Dossary for real money.
