The Zoom App Marketplace continues to grow and attract millions of new developers to integrate Zoom into their platforms. We are aware that with growth comes added responsibilities. With that in mind, we are committed to delivering top-notch experiences to our customers by exceeding expectations and releasing cool features that enhance our developer platform.

However, it can be hard to keep up with all the features that we offer on different platforms and which ones stand out the most. So, we have decided to publish a new blog every quarter highlighting the main features that we launched.

Marketplace

  • Intuitive controls for app installation flow — This allows account users to make app pre-approval and installation requests to their account admin and allows admins to have more control over app installation.
  • Additional security control — Now the Publishable URL requires Zoom approval before you can share your app with Zoom users beyond your own account. We also allow the Test URL to be only used by the same account.

SDK

  • Introduced newly designed demo apps making each component easier to understand for developers.
  • Introduced logging feature, which makes the troubleshooting process much easier
  • Numerous improvements in overall performance, security, reliability, and usability for the SDKs.
  • Refactored Web SDK to be used for CDN, Local, and npm, allowing it to be included in existing projects.

API

  • Introduced Chat APIs so that users can send messages to their contacts using IM Chat API and also being able to retrieve a user’s chat messages.

As always, to find out details about our developer changes, you can refer to our Zoom Developer Changelog.
