Welcome to the latest update from Tentree Studios, your go-to source for all the exciting developments happening in our game development studio. It’s been a whirlwind of activity here as we’ve been pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with our latest projects. From our team members’ exciting speaking engagements at NFY NYC to our ongoing work on the Era 4 development of ZOS and the groundbreaking infrastructure for Galactic Standoff, there’s never been a dull moment. In this blog post, we’re thrilled to share some of the latest updates and behind-the-scenes insights into our progress. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!

Starbase Management Structures

In Galactic Standoff, the building management system is a core aspect of the gameplay experience. As we mentioned in our earlier blog post, the Planetary Syndicates and their corresponding GS Starbases will be at the heart of the game. Each council member elected to the Syndicate will automatically become the owner of the corresponding Starbase, with the responsibility of managing it to be the best in the game.

To achieve this, Starbase owners must select staff members and community moderators, and delegate roles and responsibilities to improve and better their Starbase. It’s important to think of the Starbase as a business, with the owners responsible for building a great management team to execute a solid plan for success.

In Galactic Standoff, there are two types of roles Owners can assign to other players within their Starbase: Staff Members and Community Moderators.

Types of Roles within the Starbase Management Structure:

Staff Members hold a high level of authority and are responsible for the day-to-day management of the Starbase. Think of them as traditional gaming clan admins, with a range of actions they can take to keep the Starbase running smoothly.

On the other hand, Community Moderators have less authority than Staff Members, but are still critical in maintaining engagement, managing the community, and driving marketing efforts. These players carry out day-to-day engagement with other players, helping to keep them active and involved in the Starbase.

Together, Staff Members and Community Moderators are essential to the success of a Starbase, and players will need to carefully consider who they assign to each role in order to build the most effective team. We can’t wait to see the creative and innovative ways players will use these roles to build and manage their Starbases!

Incentives to become a Staff Member/Moderator

Just like in any business, staff members within a Starbase are incentivized to perform their roles through some form of compensation. In Galactic Standoff, owners can choose to set a percentage share of spoils from PVP victories for their Staff Members and Community Moderators.

For example, an Owner might decide to split spoils as follows:

  • Owner: 25% (the Council Members split 25% of the spoils)
  • Staff Members: 30% (all Staff Members split 30% of the spoils)
  • Community Moderators: 20% (all Community Moderators split 20% of the spoils)
  • Players: 25% (all players, including Staff Members and Community Moderators, split 25% of the spoils)

This incentivizes staff members and moderators to perform their roles to the best of their ability and contribute to the success of the Starbase, while also ensuring that players are rewarded for their participation in PVP battles. The flexibility and customization of the spoils distribution system allows owners to tailor compensation to their specific needs and priorities, making for a more engaging and dynamic gameplay experience.

Do you want to become a Staff Member or Moderator? It might be a good idea to start talking with Syndicate Council Members about it and start planning for the release!

Which NFTs will be needed to play Galactic Standoff on launch?

faces.worlds (except for Human Male / Human Female)
For players familiar with ZOS, faces.worlds will be the Galactic Standoff equivalent of Survivors. Players will pledge allegiance to a Starbase with their faces.worlds NFT. You can only pledge allegiance to 1 Starbase per faces.worlds NFT, if you want to move that character to another Starbase you will need to remove it from the Starbase. Starbases will have capacities for how many faces.worlds NFTs can be pledged per wallet. There will also be overall capacity limits per Starbase that can be upgraded over time. We have chosen to exclude Human Male / Human Female from the game as this could be abused by bad actors.

arms.worlds
The weapons and shields from Alien Worlds will be used to rank up faces.worlds cards. Players will need to burn arms.worlds NFTs into the ranking system to increase the XP of their faces.worlds cards. All arms.worlds NFTs used to rank up faces.worlds cards unretrievable. In other words they are ‘spent’ and are property of the game to be used as rewards/recycled in other ways to boost the ecosystem of Galactic Standoff.

Other Alien Worlds NFTs will be needed as we release new game modes. This is just the start and we plan on utilising many more schemas within the Alien Worlds collection moving forward.

Stay Tuned For More!

In the coming weeks we will be diving deeper into the Ranking System and giving a first look at the Starbase PVP game design.

For now, keep Survivin’
