Investment and return-on-investment with ZrCoin
ZrCoin offers compelling returns on supporters’ investments, with buyback prices rising by 5.5% per month until market price has been reached.
ZrCoin will be crowdfunding investment for its green zirconium initiative, starting on 11 May 2017. The project will secure the necessary funding to build a factory for the production of synthetic zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), a key commodity used as a refractory material in the nuclear and ceramics industries. Synthetic zirconium is more cost-effective, more environmentally friendly and of higher quality than the commodity currently traded, which is mined from the earth.
ZrO2 trades for around $2,800 per tonne on the open market. Each ZrCoin sold in the coming crowdsale will be backed by 1 kg of synthetic ZrO2, making it nominally worth $2.80. These ‘options’ will go on sale from $1.40 at ICO, with the price rising to $1.55 by the end of the ICO.
ZrCoin is a blockchain-based fintech product that can be sold back to the company, or traded on supporting exchanges (including Waves’ DEX). Every month after production starts, ZrCoin will buy back several hundred thousand dollars worth of tokens, enabling holders to profit from their investment. The buyback price will increase by 5.5% of the initial price every month, until it reaches $2.80. At this price, 18 months after buybacks start, all outstanding tokens will be repurchased.
It will therefore be possible for investors to gain a fast but more modest return, or to hold their tokens for up to 18 months after the crowdsale ends and enjoy a higher ROI. Of course, investors can choose when they sell, and can therefore use ZrCoin as a way to ‘park’ funds in a store of value while they make decisions based on developments within the wider crypto markets.
Because ZrO2 is a highly in-demand industrial commodity, it is possible that market prices will rise above $2.80. If this is the case it will enable faster buybacks, allowing ZrCoin to provide full ROI to investors on a shorter timescale.
