The birth of ZTX: Asia’s largest metaverse platform announces entry into web3
We’re thrilled to announce ZTX (ZepetoX), a web3 metaverse initiative jointly incubated by leading global blockchain organizations including Jump Crypto and ZEPETO — Asia’s largest web2 digital world platform with over 400 million registered users.
NFTs provide a technological framework for unprecedented, verifiable ownership of digital assets, laying the foundations for the economy of the metaverse. Following the rapid transition to remote working and digitalization of social life over the past years, decentralized metaverse and web3 initiatives have been pulling in record investments, raising around $30 billion in venture capital alongside sales of NFTs reaching close to $20 billion in 2021. According to data from Fortune Business Insights, the global metaverse market is expected to reach around $1,528 billion by 2029, more than tenfold the projected $100 billion in 2022.
The vision of creating an immersive digital world with its own economy has been attracting a plethora of companies. But the first iterations of building the metaverse have so far resulted in approaches siloed to individual platforms with limited social interaction offerings. And following initial excitement, the projects available so far have failed to attract a user base from beyond the crypto native community, whose interests and needs remain crucial for mass adoption.
