Not affiliated with Larva Labs. Numbered 10,000–19,999, Zunks are the unofficial sequel to Punks. Zunks are generated on-chain with randomized attributes and guaranteed to be unique from any Punk. Zunks’ attributes were able to be re-rolled until 8/13/21, after which the collection’s metadata has officially been finalized.

Zood zevening Zunk fam! On November 30 we released the CryptoZunks — Revived post. It has been 13 days since then. We’ve been hard at work in the back-end working on ways to improve the community. Think of this update as a soft update. It is not a roadmap. It will only discuss things we are currently working on and touch on things we are planning for the future. Keep in mind the Community Team was formed only 3 weeks ago and we are still trying to get our bearings but we’re almost there.

Genie Sweeps Bot Integration

A community member from the Zunks Discord reached out to Genie regarding integrating a sweeper bot into the Zunks Discord. This is currently in progress. We will be able to share more info about it once it’s actually integrated. The Genie team is currently working on ensuring that it is integrated properly and can handle our zibes.

The benefit of Genie’s bot will be that it will give us information about floor sweeps right inside our own Discord. We’re not exactly sure what kind of information will be displayed beyond the sweeps if any but if you’d like to have a look at the bot integration please visit the Genie Discord and check out the #genie-sweeps channel.

What is Genie though? Check out this great FAQ page from Genie’s site. In short however (for the lazy Zunks), Genie Swap is the first ever NFT marketplace aggregator. Genie users can batch buy and sell across all major marketplaces in a single transaction. Genie Swap does not charge any fees. Genie Swap’s architecture was designed to help users efficiently batch multiple actions in a single transaction. There are multiple ways which we reduce the gas consumption overhead (the extra cost that you incur when using an aggregator), including extensive use of libraries and delegate calls as well as shifting any possible logic off-chain when constructing a transaction. NFTGO AMA Event

The NFTGO.io team reached out to us on Twitter recently. We are planning to do some kind of NFTGO x Zunks Twitter Spaces which will include an AMA for the Zunks to ask the NFTGO team questions about their platform. NFTGO is a startup from Singapore who has a suite of analytical tools for NFTs. We use their tools constantly whenever we make statistical updates about the Zunks sales or volume on Twitter. They want more people to use their tools and we want to thank them for making it so simple to attain that data. We will work on things together to bring exposure to both of our projects. They are a pleasure to work with and want to ensure that both parties benefit. Read more about NFTGO here on their Medium blog.

We love being approached or having community members approach projects on our behalf like this. We want to work with people who are just looking to zibe and showcase their talents. With Genie Sweeps and NFTGO we are happy to give them the exposure they deserve since they really did help us on the zome up. Please be sure to show both of their projects a lot of love! They helped us get where we are and the least we can do is give them a follow!

Zunk-Mas

Zunk-Mas is our version of “12 days of Christmas”. It will begin tomorrow December 14th at 12PM EST. A calendar will be released showcasing the community events we will be running. Our goal is to giveaway Zunk NFT’s from the Community Wallet, as well as prizes at random to active Discord Community members who have helped shape the Zunk revival and turned it into what it is today. Each day a new event will take place at about 12PM EST. You will have to join the Discord and be on the look out for the event.

Bounty Board

The date of the bounty board reveal has been decided as January 1st 2022. On this day a board will be released with various rewards for each task. At first we planned to do smaller rewards because our Community Wallet only had about $40,000 in it. Now we have doubled it to $80,000. This gives us much more to work with and that means we can provide larger bounties. This means instead of earning $25 for 100 retweets, we can provide $100 for 250 retweets or things like that. Bounties are a way to reward the community members who do the most to support the Zunk fam. We see your tweets. We see your replies. We see your zibes. We want to make sure you guys continue to zibe and feel like you’re earning value for the work that you do. That’s the driving force behind this.

Community Wallet Management

In the last announcement we discussed how the Community Wallet had $40,000 worth of ETH. Today we are pleased to announce that the new balance is $80,000 worth of ETH. The price of ETH did fall so that is the perfect segway into the next idea. We are going to be putting 20% — 30% of the Community Wallet’s value into $OUSD. For those of you who do not know, OUSD aka Origin Dollar, is the first stablecoin to earn a yield inside your own wallet. It will allow us to hedge against the price fluctuations of ETH and come up with a way to ensure that the Community Wallet funds are being spent in ways to grow on their own as well as give back to the Community. You can learn about Origin Dollar here. We feel that investing a portion of the wallet is a wise decision that will help us support the project costs. Currently we spend $5,000 USD per month on salaries. $2,500 USD for myself and $2,500 USD for nonexistent. If we are able to put say $25,000 USD worth of ETH into $OUSD, we are able to receive some of the benefits of yield farming while also making sure that we are not making any plays that are too risky. The real benefit of $OUSD is that we don’t need to enter and exit our positions. The protocol will rebase and update our balance automatically. This saves us a lot on gas fees that many yield farming tactics require. The plan going forward is to continually put a bit of the wallet earnings into yield farming protocols like $OUSD and perhaps others as well to ensure the project is able to grow its war chest.

Charitable Donations

This is an idea from Kane, our Lead Developer. He realizes that community members wanted X-Mas hats and with how fast the interest in Zunks grew we were unable to come through with this at this time. We needed something else to get in the Christmas Spirit and the charitable donations aspect came up. Our plan is to donate to a couple Christmas charities and provide some cheer this Christmas for people. We plan to donate $5,000 USD — $10,000 USD although this hasn’t been set in stone yet. We are contacting various charities to see what we can do now. This will be done within a few days. We will be donating to well-known charities right now as this is a brand new area for us and with so little time left until Christmas it will be the easiest way to get it done without creating anymore delays.

These charitable donations are something we want to continue doing on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. For example, if a $25,000 investment into $OUSD yields 30% per year, that is $7,500 worth of yield. That $7,500/12 is $625 per month. That $625 per month could go towards charities every month. That is why the yield farming aspect is valuable and how we will be able to support these initiatives going forward.

Zunk Marketplace

It’s being explored. That’s all we know. It will be cool. Everyone knows how capable the Zunk development team is. You’ve seen the website. We can’t say anything more.

Zunkfest

A user recently asked “wen Zunkfest” on Twitter. This got us thinking. So we made a tweet about it.

This tweet here is where the discussion took place. Thank you to @tmarkes for bringing it up. We love the idea. It’s something to think about and get to work on soon. We have a very small team so it will require a lot of planning to make it work. COVID-19 is not helping things either when it comes to travel. Think about Zunkfest as a celebration for Zunk holders. We could hold a concert with some semi-famous musicians that don’t cost us our entire treasury. We could do an open-bar at a beach club in California. Miami Beach could be the zibe. Everything is up in the air right now but it is something we are looking at. It would help drive the Zunk identity is a zibe identity point home to the NFT community. We’d definitely have to pick a place where weed is legal though, so we can relive this meme:

Remember, this is a soft update, please don’t expect everything in here to be done tomorrow. It is a community update mid-month to showcase what we’ve been doing behind the scenes. It doesn’t include anything about merch for a reason, and that reason is… merch is coming. We’re just working on designs now and working on ensuring the quality fits the zibe. We have a partner in mind. It’s a good one. Get your wallets ready. January should be the merch month. Maybe February. Maybe March. Or November. Zoke. We’re aiming for Q1 2022 though.
