Synopsis: When Iwao returns to his hometown village with Irene for the first time in a long time, the funeral of his father, who he didn’t know was dead, is being held. Then Iwao’s mother appears in front of them, dressed in mourning clothes and carrying a rifle.

This film is so good that it has been called “an incident in the name of film adaptation”. It is a great masterpiece full of love. The main character, Iwao, his wife Irene, Iwao’s mother, a yakuza man who prostitutes Filipino women, etc., are all portrayed in an easy-to-understand manner with little direction. In addition to the portrayal of the characters, the film also interweaves discrimination against international marriages and problems with wives and mothers-in-law, so if you watch it thinking that it is a romantic violence film, you will be severely burned. This film is a profound human drama, so I recommend you to be prepared for it. I would like to applaud Ms. Hana Kino’s passionate performance as Iwao’s mother!
