The movie geek’s heart is aflutter

Synopsis: 1979, Texas. Six men and women, including actress Maxine and her manager Wayne, blonde actress Bobby Lynn and actor Jackson, and independent film student RJ and his girlfriend Lorraine, a recording artist, visit a rented farm to shoot a pornographic film “Farm Girls. Maxine’s eyes meet those of Pearl, an elderly woman who is staring at them through the windowpane of the house.

A masterpiece full of homages to the horror films of the 1970s and 1980s. The camera work follows a person heading to a farm from behind as if licking her behind (“The Texas Chain Saw Massacre”). The woman trapped in the cellar knocks on the door with an axe. The old man Howard strikes the woman’s hand with a blunt instrument as she tries to unlock the door through a crack in the torn wooden door (“The Shining”), and many other homages that make horror lovers’ hearts skip a beat. Then there is the relentless depiction of old woman Pearl’s sorrow of aging and jealousy of her youth. The devoted love of old man Howard, who tries to fulfill Pearl’s sexual lust.
