How to Use Medium’s Tipping Feature Through PayPal

Hey, Writers, guess what? You can now receive tips directly from readers. Woot! The feature can be activated using Patreon, Ko-Fi, or PayPal.

I set mine up through PayPal. To do this, I created a “PayPalMe” link. Here’s how:

1): Log into PayPal. Under “Send and Request,” select “Share Your Personal Profile.”

2): Follow the prompts to add a profile photo and create a username.

3): You will receive a welcome email from PayPalMe. Click on the link in the email to get to your PayPalMe page.

4): Copy your PayPalMe URL.

5): On your Medium page, go to “Settings.” Under “Audience Development,” click on “Tipping.” Paste it in when prompted and… presto!
