Instead of buying new, overpriced batteries every time one gets old or dies, people can recondition and reuse their old batteries instead, saving them thousands of dollars over their lifetime.

Over this past year alone, as you probably know, batteries are expensive and prices keep going up. The average family is spending more and more of their hard-earned money each month on all kinds of batteries.

Just think about it… How much of your hard-earned money do you spend on replacement batteries for your car, tools, laptop, cell phone, electronics, and other devices? The average person already spends over $15,000 in their lifetime!

And to make matters worse, the demand for batteries is skyrocketing because our modern world continues to require more devices, tools, and vehicles that are solely powered by batteries. This means the amount most people spend on batteries each year is only going to go up!

But it doesn’t have to be like this because…

How to Recondition a Lead Acid Battery: Step-by-Step Guide

Battery Reconditioning Is a Simple Skill That Every Person Should Use When Their Batteries Get Old or Die

If your batteries die, DON’T THROW THEM OUT! If you have a box of old batteries, SAVE THEM! You can bring these back to life again and reuse them, saving yourself a small fortune!

A lot of people these days don’t know this, but years ago, many people knew how to recondition their old car battery to maximize its lifespan. Nowadays, most people don’t know this incredibly valuable and money-saving skill.

Most people also don’t know you can recondition many other types of batteries besides just dead car batteries.

And the truth is, years ago, a man named Frank Thompson taught me everything I know about battery reconditioning. Frank runs a battery reconditioning and servicing business in South Carolina where he goes around to businesses and hauls away their dead batteries for free. He then reconditions those batteries and resells them for a nice profit.

When Frank showed me how to recondition batteries, I couldn’t believe people everywhere didn’t already do this! It’s one of the most simple, useful, and money-saving DIY skills anyone can learn!

Most skills that save you this much money take years to master, but battery reconditioning can be learned in one or two afternoons. And it only takes 10 to 15 minutes to actually recondition most batteries!

It’s also really fun to do because, right before your eyes, you see how a battery goes from working poorly to working great again. After I learned these skills from Frank, I knew we couldn’t keep this a secret…

So I called up Frank and asked him if he wanted to help me create easy-to-follow, step-by-step guides that anyone can use…

Step-by-step Guide On How To Recondition A Lead Acid Battery

Before you start, make sure you have the following materials:

  • Safety goggles
  • Rubber gloves
  • Battery charger
  • Distilled water
  • Baking soda
  • Plastic funnel
  • Voltmeter

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Safety First

Always wear safety goggles and rubber gloves to protect yourself from battery acid.

Step 2: Clean the Battery

Mix baking soda with water to create a paste. Use this paste to clean the battery terminals and remove corrosion.

Step 3: Check the Voltage

Use a voltmeter to check the battery’s voltage. A healthy lead acid battery should read around 12.6 volts.

Step 4: Add Distilled Water

If the battery’s cells are low on water, use a plastic funnel to add distilled water until the cells are full.

Step 5: Charge the Battery

Use a battery charger to charge the battery. Make sure to follow the charger’s instructions and charge the battery slowly.

Step 6: Test the Battery

After charging, use the voltmeter again to check the battery’s voltage. If the voltage is around 12.6 volts, the battery is reconditioned.

Step 7: Reinstall the Battery

Once reconditioned, you can reinstall the battery in your device or vehicle.

And that’s it! You have successfully reconditioned a lead acid battery.
