Dear Hillary Clinton,

Gerard Mclean here, from Englewood, Ohio, about ten miles north of Dayton. This is the ninety-fifth letter of one hundred I am writing you on health care; one for each day between your nomination and your election. The previous letters can be found in your USPS mailbox or online at 100HRC.com.

At the end of today, I will have made four monthly insurance premium payments to Anthem BC/BS of Ohio since starting this project.

These four payments alone are the equivalent of making annual payments on three cars. That is three cars that were not purchased because the health insurance corporations need to be fed instead.

When you read the next article about why Millenials are not purchasing houses, cars, durable goods, delaying getting married or having kids, take a look at the latest job numbers and notice which industries are hiring. Ask yourself why.

Everything is related. The massive wealth the health insurance corporations are extracting from us through premiums, co-pays and deductibles must come from somewhere. That “somewhere” is not hard to ascertain.

We need SinglePayer, MedicareForAll, UniversalCare. Anything less is unsustainable.

Regards,

Gerard McLean
cc: Sen. Sherrod Brown
