Dear Hillary Clinton,

Gerard Mclean here, from Englewood, Ohio, just north of Dayton. There were 100 days from your nomination to election, so I’m writing you 100 letters. This is the fifty-first letter. The others can be found in your USPS mailbox or online at 100HRC.com

We have more days behind us than ahead of us in this election. The one good thing about elections is there is an end date; November 8, 2016 will come and decisions will be made. Life for you will get either incredibly slow or very, very busy.

For all of us out here working just to survive, however, the flow of health insurance premium checks being sent to insurance corporations for the promise of health care just marches on every month, like a slow funeral dirge.

There is no end date on health insurance. Moreover, there is nothing we can point to and say “That is what my money bought.” Why? Despite their claims, health insurance corporations provide nothing of value for the thousands of dollars we pay them a year.

Nothing.

That bill comes at the end of the month, every month, of that we are certain.

You, Sen. Brown and Senator Tim Kaine have an open invitation for coffee to chat about UniversalCare, SinglePayer, MedicareForAll any time you can fit it into your schedule. We’re both busy, but I think the time we make for each other will be well spent.

Regards,

Gerard McLean

cc: Sen. Sherrod Brown
