Writing is command-line for your brain

Writing is hard because most people write for the wrong reason. They expect what they write to make sense.

They should think, instead, of writing as like a command-line interface for their brain. It’s a bit of a stack trace, too.

You have a thought, even if it’s just chatter. You write that thought, look for any errors, then try to correct for those errors (or at least acknowledge them). Over time, you can feel that your brain’s software has been rewritten.

You have to do it over and over again before you can have error-free (if that’s even possible) writing. You’re pretty far along if it makes any sense at all.
