Yes, there are four of us today to share with you what our life at 2359 is all about. Oh, do you know we are also hiring?

What do you enjoy about working at 2359?
The positive work environment where everyone has the same level of respect for one another, and where ideas are able to flow and be shared with each other. I am currently working remotely in Vietnam, however, I have seen how the office is equipped with a fully stocked pantry, a refrigerator, and conducive meeting spaces. I would like to visit the office someday once the pandemic is over.
What is the most interesting project you’ve worked on so far and why?
The latest project I am working on is for the largest telco provider in Singapore, a payment gateway that allows online retailers and service providers to easily connect to payment platforms of the telco group. Cashless payments are highly encouraged especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which makes this platform rather purposeful and convenient for users. Users are able to securely pay with direct carrier billing and mobile wallets to cross-share product portfolios, access digital content from over 300 gaming and entertainment service providers such as Netflix and Spotify, making the whole customer experience more seamless through mobile wallet interconnectivity.
What is something that you have achieved personally and professionally while working at 2359?
Through my project, I gained more knowledge about the distributed systems on cloud environments which I had no exposure to prior to working at 2359.
✨Your goals in 2021 as a Senior Back-end Engineer✨
My goal is to be a better problem solver, build on my technical knowledge and improve my code quality through learning from others as well as multiple practices. I will also continue to work harder and attain new skills to improve myself as an engineer. I believe that there is always more to learn with every project we take on.
What do you enjoy about working at 2359?
The working culture of flexibility and inclusivity motivates me to take charge of my own learning progress and the quality of work I produce. With the flexible nature of the company, we were able to instill the same mentality towards our clients with the capability to offer quick response time and the agility to hop on challenging projects. Everyone in the company is very inclusive as well, we often share our learnings and insights with one another.
What is the most interesting project you’ve worked on so far and why?
Our chatbot dashboard — Bot Bot. It is proof that we are always willing to try something new. We created a self-serve dashboard for all our clients to have access to where they can create and train a chatbot, integrate with business databases and API as well as the ability for the clients to assist customers upon a live agent request. This helps with the seamless transfer of communication from the chatbot to the human. I also had the opportunity to take on multiple projects at the same time that involves mobile and AI projects which I equally enjoy working on.
What is something that you have achieved personally and professionally while working at 2359?
Having worked on different projects gave me new perspectives and knowledge as a software engineer. I would say the greatest achievement is that I am a better engineer now as compared to when I first joined the company. Seeing the growth in me motivates me to work harder and improve on technical skills.
✨Your goals in 2021 as a Full-stack Engineer✨
To build more products and hone my existing coding skills. I would wish to be more involved in impactful projects on a larger scale.
What do you enjoy about working at 2359?
I would say 2359 has a lot of flexibility, in terms of work culture and what we offer to our clients. We strive to set the bar high and constantly challenge ourselves to produce better quality work, so with a healthier work-life balance, we get to manage our time more efficiently which increases our productivity. Colleagues are all very approachable which attributes to a positive and comfortable environment to work in.
What is the most interesting project you’ve worked on so far and why?
An OTT mobile and web application for one of the renowned media companies. It was rewarding to be working with such a huge clientele and the satisfaction of successfully delivering the project albeit the challenges. This application entailed many features including gamification, geo-location, and live TV. Upon the launch within 4 months, the application was enhanced into a world-class OTT product across the region with millions of users.
What is something that you have achieved personally and professionally while working at 2359?
It feels great being able to meet inspiring leaders and experts in the engineering field. I was given plenty of opportunities to work with different people from whom I have learned a lot. The ability to learn from them helped with my professional development as an engineer and broadened my knowledge and coding skills.
✨Your goals in 2021 as a Full-stack Engineer✨
My goal this year is to expand my knowledge in Blockchain and Decentralized Finance Development.
What do you enjoy about working at 2359?
I enjoy the wide variety of platforms and projects that I get to work on at 2359. Each new project gives me a fresh learning opportunity to build my skills and enhance my contribution to the project.
What is the most interesting project you’ve worked on so far and why?
Each project I have worked on has brought me unique learning experiences. A project which I worked on recently brought me great insights on the importance of process management in the software lifecycle and how it empowers not only the efficiency of an individual engineer but of the whole team working together to deliver a quality software product.
What is something that you have achieved personally and professionally while working at 2359?
I got an opportunity to build my software skills in technologies such as Reactjs, Nodejs, AWS architecture, and their extended frameworks.

I would like to work on my skills to build strong and secure software systems, as well as to get my AWS certification! :)
