  1. Practise listening and silence. No talking for a day, or 10 days.

2. Watch documentaries about the world and what we as humans are doing to it.

3. Watch powerful films or listen to music that move you deeply.

4. Research the Israel-Palestine conflict in Gaza, find out what’s happening to refugees around the world, and challenge your own assumptions about these topics.

5. Travel to a place that you’ve never been to before and connect with the locals. Learn their culture, and practise their traditions with an open heart and mind.

6. Read the stories on Humans of New York or New Humans of Australia.

7. Spend time volunteering with the elderly, children, animals, or the needy. (Tweet this)

8. Practise presence. Hang out with your partner, family and friends and turn your mobile devices off the whole time you’re with them. (Tweet this)

9. Pay attention to what’s being said without actually being said.

10. Keep a daily gratitude journal, and write down 3 things you are grateful for in your life the very moment that you wake up in the morning — every day for 30 days (or more).

11. Less thinking, more feeling. (Tweet this)
