Cross-Chain Bridge now decentralized

The innovative bridge created by the Tixl Organization continues to gain recognition in the wider marketplace.

Since initially offering our Cross-Chain Bridge to others, many projects have approached us — the demand for a ERC20 <-> BEP20 bridge is high. One topic we wanted to finalize before onboarding too many more projects is decentralization. We are pleased to report that, from now on, the bridge will be managed in a decentralized way, and all projects interested can be onboarded efficiently as a result.

If you haven’t done so yet, join the Tixl journey here: Telegram Announcement Channel, Telegram Group, and Twitter.

Bridge Demand

In our last Bridge Update post we wrote the following:

If crypto ERC20 projects want to list on PancakeSwap or a BSC DEX, they have to offer their token holders a ERC20 <-> BEP20 Bridge. Binance itself has one, but only offers this to projects that are listed on binance.com. However, only a handful of smaller Altcoins are. This is the reason why Tixl has not been able to use the Binance bridge itself. As a result, we decided to build a bridge ourselves. In addition, we wanted to have a bridge that is decentralized; the Binance Bridge is not.

The same problem that Tixl had is existent for many projects willing to migrate to or list on BSC or as a BEP20 token. Just hours after we released our bridge, many projects knocked on our door and asked whether they could use our bridge too.

The demand grew significantly — projects want to go to Binance Smart Chain. With this huge need, it made sense for us to design and build a proper product out of what started as a small side-project to solve our own pain points. The basis for this was decentralization.

Decentralization

From now on, the Cross-Chain Bridge is hosted in a decentralized way.

The bridge smart contracts work with one or multiple oracles that are permitted to trigger the release of tokens. For the decentralized version of the bridge, the oracle address is created in a key generation ceremony of participating nodes. As a result, a multi-signature address was created that will be established as an oracle.

To start with, we will have 3 nodes. Our close partner DIA is hosting one node, the technology company “Rocknitive GmbH” in Reinfeld/Germany another, and Tixl gGmbH the third one.

Onboarding of new Projects

Going forward, we are happy and fully prepared, to onboard any projects that have a need for a decentralized ERC20 <-> BEP20 bridge. To request a listing, please fill out this form.

Decentralization and Diversification

The Tixl Project started out with a focus on creating a token that would solve the issues of speed and cost-effectiveness of transfer, we also looked at privacy as an option. This is still our overall goal and vision — paired with full interoperability.

Real-world restrictions, constraints, and changes mean that a successful project is one that adapts to a changing environment. We have done this, along with the belief that — if there is a genuine need for a solution — we will build it if one does not exist. The Bridge is a good example of this.

As always, thank you all for your support.
