Bitcorn Crops — Overview
For those who are unfamiliar, Bitcorn Crops is a blockchain game where bitcoin addresses owning CROPS become “farms” that harvest BITCORN.
CROPS and BITCORN are tokens on the Counterparty network. Similar to board games, like Monopoly, and incremental games, like Adventure Capitalist, the point of the game is to accumulate the most BITCORN.
First Bitcorn Harvest EVER
BITCORN is harvested every three months. The first harvest took place on April 1st. The next harvest is July 1st. And this will continue until 2022.
Highly anticipated, for nearly three months, the first Bitcorn Harvest went off without a hitch. Every farm, with enough CROPS to yield BITCORN, received their share of the bountiful harvest.
High Yielding Bitcorn Farms
Exactly 2,625,000 BITCORN were split between 106 addresses, using a single bitcoin transaction. You can examine that TX here. Some addresses received significantly more than others because they farm more CROPS. Like with real farming, the more CROPS a farm has the higher its crop yields will be.
Auction and Giveaways
To commemorate the first Bitcorn Harvest, a successful auction was held soon after the event for some of the very first in-game assets, including: HELIPAD, YACHTDOCK, LAMBOGARAGE, FARMHAND, and CORNCOMBINE.
Additionally, thousands of Bitcorn have been geocached all over the world at farms and gardens nearby where players are known to be located. And other Counterparty projects, like FoldingCoin, have been “CROP dusted.”
