Creating a Password (Encrypting) and Unlocking Blockmarket Desktop 3.0
If you’re a first-time user, please start with the Using Blockmarket Desktop 3.0 for the first time instructions.
Creating your password/passphrase(encryption)
Setting up a password is simple with Blockmarket Desktop 3.0. Click on the “person” icon on the top right of the main screen of the application. Then select “Encrypt Wallet.”
Enter and confirm a password or passphrase of your choice. Make sure you save it in a secure location. You cannot reset this password/passphrase if forgotten. A password must be 10 or more random characters and a passphrase must be eight or more words. When the passwords match, the “Encrypt Wallet” button will turn purple. Click on “Encrypt Wallet” to proceed.
Blockmarket will shut down after you encrypt it. Click on the “Quit” button to continue. Then open Blockmarket Desktop 3.0 again.
Once Blockmarket is reopened, you should see a lock to the right of the “person” icon. Your password/passphrase is now required to use any of the Blockmarket features.
Unlocking Blockmarket Desktop 3.0.
If your Blockmarket is locked, you must unlock it if you want to use any of its functions.
Click on the lock to the right of the “person” icon (located at the top right of the main screen of the application). Enter your password/passphrase and click on the pink “Unlock Wallet” button.
Success! Your Blockmarket is now unlocked. You can access all of the Blockmarket services while your wallet stays open. If you close and reopen Blockmarket, it will be locked again.
