Closure and refurbishment dates for Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park

This article aims to collate the most significant Disneyland Paris refurbishments posted on Twitter in 2017, and present them all on one page, in a way that’s easy to digest and understand.

I will be continually updating this article, to keep it as accurate as possible, as dates are constantly changing. Once the year is over, I will keep it online as a useful record of what happened at Disneyland Paris in 2017.

You’ll notice that the words “closes” and “reopens” are underlined. Where possible I’ve included links back to the original tweets, to make my sources clear.

January 2017

2 Jan - Phantom Manor closed (for 5 days)
2 Jan - Autopia closed (for 1 month)
5 Jan - “Disneyland Park” sign finally returned to the front of the Disneyland Hotel (after 3 months)
5 Jan - Season of the Force poster went up outside Walt Disney Studios Park, replacing the old Ratatouille one
7 Jan - Phantom Manor reopened (after 5 days)
9 Jan - Disney’s Enchanted Christmas finished (after 2 months)
9 Jan - Pirates of the Caribbean closed (for 6 months) for major refurbishment featuring exclusive new elements
9 Jan - Space Mountain: Mission 2 closed (for 3 months) to become Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain: Rebel Mission
9 Jan - Season of the Force stage finally revealed in Place des Stars (after about 1 month of construction)
9 Jan - Mickey and the Magician closed (for a 2 month break, but returns on 18 March)
9 Jan - Studio Tram Tour: Behind The Magic closed (for almost 3 months) for all scenes to be cleaned and repainted
10 Jan - La Tanière du Dragon closed (for 1 month)
10 Jan - Pocahontas Indian Village closed again (for 2 months)
10 Jan - Casey Jr. - le Petit Train du Cirque and Le Pays des Contes de Fées closed (for 2 months)
10 Jan - Star Wars: A Galactic Celebration was previewed for special guests at Walt Disney Studios Park
11 Jan - Jedi Training Academy returned (one day early) to Videopolis Theatre (for a 16 week run)
14 Jan - Season of the Force started (for a 10 week run) comprising 4 main elements (Star Wars: A Galactic Celebration, Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away, First Order March, and Stormtroopers Patrol) #FaceTheForce
16 Jan - Le Carrousel de Lancelot closed (for 19 days)
17 Jan - The giant Christmas Tree was removed from Town Square (after being up for 74 days!)

February 2017

4 Feb - La Tanière du Dragon reopened (after 1 month)
4 Feb - Le Carrousel de Lancelot reopened (after 19 days)
4 Feb - Autopia reopened (after 1 month)

March 2017

1 Mar - Hyperspace Mountain sign went up
6 Mar - It’s a Small World closes??? (for 12 days)
6 Mar - Armageddon: les Effets Spéciaux closed (for 19 days)
6 Mar - Five Guys opened in Disney Village
7 Mar - Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin closed (for 8 days)
15 Mar - Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin reopens (after 8 days)
17 Mar - Belle Meet and Greet opened at Art of Disney Animation, replacing Moana
18 Mar - It’s a Small World reopened (after 12 days)
18 Mar - Mickey and the Magician returned (after a 2 month break) for a 10 month run (until 7 January 2018)
18 Mar - Star Tours: The Adventures Continue soft opened for all guests
18 Mar - Discoveryland Station reopened (after 14 months)
23 Mar - Pocahontas Indian Village reopened (after 2 months)
24 Mar - Last ever performance of Disney Dreams!
25 Mar - Casey Jr. - le Petit Train du Cirque and Le Pays des Contes de Fées reopened (after 2 months)
25 Mar - First ever (soft opening) performance of Disney Illuminations
25 Mar - Studio Tram Tour: Behind The Magic reopened (after almost 3 months)
25 Mar - Armageddon: les Effets Spéciaux reopened (after 19 days)
26 Mar - Disneyland Paris’ 25th Anniversary celebration started, featuring Disney Stars on Parade and Disney Illuminations #DLP25
26 Mar - Star Tours: The Adventures Continue opened at 10:00am (after 12 months)
26 Mar - Starport opened, the new Darth Vader meet and greet experience, in the old Star Traders building
27 Mar - Season of the Force finished (after a 10 week run) although Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away, First Order March and Stormtrooper Patrol will continue until the end of September
29 Mar - Last ever performance of CinéMagique (at 4:45pm)
30 Mar - CinéMagique closed forever (after a 15 year run) to possibly be replaced with a Marvel stunt show

April 2017

10 Apr - Discoveryland Theatre closed (for 1 month) to make way for a new Star Wars show
29 Apr - Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain soft opened but with the Star Wars soundtrack and special effects turned off

May 2017

5 May - Discoveryland Theatre reopened (after 1 month) with Path of the Jedi
7 May - Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain opened (after 4 months)

June 2017

5 Jun - RC Racer closed (for 5 days)
10 Jun - RC Racer reopened (after 5 days)
12 Jun - It’s a Small World closed (for 12 days)
24 Jun - It’s a Small World reopened (after 12 days)
26 Jun - Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain closed (for 5 days)

July 2017

1 Jul - Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain reopened (after 5 days)
1 Jul - The Forest of Enchantment started (for a 9 week run)
