Bio Update: The Kitties are now as multinational as our game

In anticipation of CryptoKitties expanding to Greater China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, some of our cats will now feature Chinese bios.

Like the people who play CryptoKitties, our kittens are diverse and international. A cat’s bio, like its art, will be consistent across users and regions—that means a North American user will be able to buy a cat with a Chinese bio, and vice versa.

So just how many cats will have Chinese bios?

We’ll be releasing Gen 0s with Chinese bios for a few weeks. Once the system is seeded, we’ll turn that feature off. To get another Chinese bio, a user will have to breed two cats with Chinese bios. And since so many of you have been asking: the bio is not a part of a CryptoKitties’ genes, and it doesn’t affect breeding in any other way.

We’re excited to bring you Chinese bios and we plan to explore the possibility of releasing other regional bios based on community demand. You can browse through the Marketplace and hunt for some Chinese bios if you’d like to buy a Chinese cat of your very own!
