This is a follow up from Fresh concept mobile OS UX 1.0 if you haven’t checked that out yet.

The use of joysticks have been around since 1910 and have been used for controlling machines such as cranes, trucks, underwater unmanned vehicles, wheelchairs, surveillance cameras, and zero turning radius lawn mowers. Miniature finger-operated joysticks have been adopted as input devices for smaller electronic equipment such as mobile phones.

After the blackberry phones, joysticks really left the market. There was nothing wrong with joysticks, easy to operate and a universal design. With modern touch screen devices, the joystick was lost. I am looking to bring it back, don’t throw away something that isn’t broken, revamp the idea!

The user focused in the centre will have many functions. With new phones such as the iPhone 6s/7, One Plus 3 and Samsung devices running with a 3D touch or Force touch this can defiantly be taken advantage of. One tap on the users face will trigger an open app menu, forced touch the user to activate a search engine or other. Move the user around the screen to activate hidden apps (changeable) the user will have full customisation in the settings of the device.

When the user chooses the app they want to follow through with opening, the animation will enlarge the app rapidly and explode into fullscreen.
