Q: What’s your official website, Github, discord, etc.?

All official links are kept and will be updated here — https://linktr.ee/ethw

ETHW token

Q: Contract address?

NO such thing!

ETHW is a native token of a public chain, not an ERC20 token, hence NO contract address.

Q: Which wallet?

Any wallet that supports custom RPC, eg. Metamask, Bitkeep, Tokenpocket, etc.

Here is how to set up a custom RPC — https://medium.com/@ETHW/tutorial-set-up-ethw-wallet-and-claim-airdrop-f72a3e7e090b

Q: What’s the supply of ETHW?

Check on CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap.

Q: When will **** support or list ETHW?

That’s the best question, to ask ****. At ETHW we do not have control.

ETHW Airdrop

Q: How to claim ETHW airdrop

A simple tutorial here — https://medium.com/@ETHW/tutorial-set-up-ethw-wallet-and-claim-airdrop-f72a3e7e090b

Q: How did the airdrop work?

It is actually not an airdrop. With the ETHW hard fork, any address that had ETH on the Ethereum mainnet before the snapshot will have the equivalent number of ETHW on the EthereumPoW mainnet.

Remember in the old DeFi Summer, you can simply switch to a new network by adding its RPC info?

Same here, your ETHW will show up once you add ETHW mainnet RPC to your wallet, as long as your wallet has ETH at the time of the snapshot.

Q: When snapshot? When airdrop? When fork? When mainnet? When pool? When mining?

Snapshot at the Merge block height 15537393, already done.

Mainnet launched already — https://medium.com/@ETHW/ethw-mainnet-info-released-d775865a05e6

Airdrop completed already.

Mining on ETHW mainnet has started, more below.

ETHW Mainnet

Q: Where to trade mainnet ETHW tokens?

All major exchanges have listed ETHW, you can see the list on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko. DEXes are also available on ETHW mainnet. There is no official DEX, so always DYOR.

Q: Mainnet explorer?

https://ethwscan.com/

Q: Become a node?

Here is a tutorial to run a full node — https://github.com/ethereumpow/docs/blob/main/prepare-full-node.md

Q: Bridge from/to Ethereum

ETHW Bridge https://app.bridgetech.network/bridge?target_chain_id=10001

ETHW Mining

Q: How about the mining algorithm, block size, dag size, EIP-1559, and difficulty bomb?

ETHW Core tried to make minimum changes to keep the PoW-based Ethereum, with chain sustainability in mind, thus most are being kept the same.

So far, the difficulty bomb is disabled and the EIP-1559 base fee will be distributed to miners.

The Core plans to support 4G DAG size later.

No plan to make the mining algorithm to be ASIC-resistant.

Again please always refer to the official channels for announcements of any changes.

Q: Mining pools?

All major pools are supporting ETHW mining. Check out https://miningpoolstats.stream/ethereumpow for a list of pools.

There is also a community-built pool — https://ethwmine.com/

Q: How to mine?

A simple tutorial here — https://medium.com/@ETHW/tutorial-mine-ethw-in-a-mining-pool-ab65ff1533d6

ETHW Testnet

Q: When testnet?

Already launched the first testnet — https://medium.com/@ETHW/ethw-testnet-1-0-iceberg-released-64df1cb1fe62

A mining pool for testnet — https://medium.com/@ETHW/ethwmine-pool-supporting-ethw-iceberg-testnet-82a559f54e4c

Q: Buy or sell testnet tokens?

WARNING: ETHW testnet tokens have 0 value, there will never be any mapping from testnet tokens to mainnet tokens. Do not buy from anyone who claims there is monetary value with testnet tokens, block the seller!

ETHW Team

Q: ETHW Core?

The ETHW Core members are geeks and crypto investors from all over the world who believe in proof-of-work (PoW). It was this belief that rallied the believers into a community where members volunteered to work on ETHW.

Q: How to contribute?

Join the discussion in our community, even be a mod.

Code review and code pull requests.

Run a node, be it a full node or an archive node.

Launch a Dapp on EthereumPoW.

The donation address is in the official links list.

Do some BD/marketing/PR work for ETHW.

The whole project is donation based and almost everywhere needs some volunteers if you want to lend a hand.

Q: Join the Core?

We call on more geeks who are adept in blockchain development and governance to join us. Familiarity with the Ethereum codebase is the most important qualification. To reach out, please either:

  1. DM @ethwcore on Twitter.
  2. GitHub: Creating pull requests and showing us your previous work is probably the fastest (and preferred) way.

More Qs?

Go back to the 1st Q and everything is in that link.

Before Mainnet Launch (deprecated)

Q: Which wallet/exchange/bridge/protocol/pool will support ETHW?

Everyone, please go ask them, wallets, exchanges, protocols, bridges, mining pools, manufacturers, you name it!!

If they need anything, we’ll try to accommodate them. Time is limited so FCFS! Remember first movers can really grab extra users.

Q: What’s the best practice with my ETH before the fork?

If you would like to get any forked ETH -

WITHDRAW ETH from:

  1. CEX (those not yet support even IOU of any forked ETH);
  2. liquidity pools of DEX, lending protocol;
  3. bridges (to other chains and L2s);
  4. eth2.0 staking contract (wish they could let ppl withdraw one day);
  5. anywhere else that you do not have DIRECT control, eg. ETH kept in some custodian wallets that you do even not have the PRIVATE KEY to;
  6. some users may even choose to convert their expensive NFTs to ETHs, DYOR.

RULE OF THUMB — Only keep the ETH in the wallets that you have the private key to, or your trusted institutes that are guaranteed to give you all the forked ETH you deserve ON TIME (right after the fork, and we are not aware of any institutes that would as of now). Of course, your ETH has to be on the Ethereum mainnet.
