WEIRDO Ranks: Every Live-Action Spider-Man Suit đˇ (Part 1 of 3)
Another one!
Spider-Man has worn many outfits throughout his numerous cinematic adventures, but some are naturally more appealing and significant than others. With this series of articles, I will provide you with my official ranking of each live-action Spidey suit, including the adaptations I havenât necessarily seen before. As always, leave a clap if you like this article, and comment below where you would place each suit on your personal list.
Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, and in no way shape or form are you subject to agree with me. However, if you think my number one pick is wrong, then we need to exchange some words. Just kiddingâŚbut not really.
16. Takuya Yamashiro (SupaidÄman, 1978)
Takuya Yamashiroâs Spidey costume looked like just that: a costume. While I canât fault the suit completely due to the era it existed in, giving Spider-Man a giant, visible wrist gauntlet seems like a weird creative decision, unless youâre someone who has no idea about the character anyway.
15. Nicholas Hammond (Spider-Man/Spider-Man Strikes Back/Spider-Man: The Dragonâs Challenge, 1977/1978/1981)
Nicholas Hammondâs turn as the character saw him wearing a wrist gauntlet reminiscent of Ben Reillyâs from the comics, and it somehow looked better than Takuya Yamashiroâs. However, the silver utility belt is an odd look and something thatâs thankfully been done away with since.
14. Tom Holland [Stealth] (Spider-Man: Far From Home, 2019)
While some may find solace in the MCUâs comedic take on a S.H.I.E.L.D.-designed Spider-Man outfit, it just made me desire for Holland to don the symbiote suit that much more. Iâm not overly fond of this oneâs blandness and I sure donât care for the Night Monkey gag its associated with.
13. Tom Holland [Mystical] (Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2021)
I can rock with the story surrounding Hollandâs use of this one, but again, Marvel keeps giving Spidey black suits without giving him the symbiote suit he actually wears in the comics. The mystical webs were cool though, and the camera taped to the chest was pretty funny. Other than that⌠meh.
12. Andrew Garfield [Origin] (The Amazing Spider-Man, 2012)
Rebooting the character for a new generation, The Amazing Spider-Man saw Andrew Garfield don a red and blue tracksuit. Though not horrendous, the design feels like Sony tried too hard to stand out and be different from its predecessor, giving us an unnecessarily âedgyâ version of the iconic suit.
11. Tobey Maguire [Wrestling] (Spider-Man, 2002)
Desperate for money to impress his crush, Tobey Maguireâs Peter Parker enters a wrestling tournament using nothing but makeshift clothes and raggedy sneakers. The homemade aesthetic is strong with this one as it signified the beginning of Peterâs tragic origin story pre-Spider-Man.
