How To Create Medium Content Puzzle Books In 1 Day Using Book Bolt To Sell On Amazon KDP

Generating passive income, with little effort, is possible when you use Book Bolt To create Medium-content books like puzzle books to sell on Amazon KDP.

Since publishing this step-by-step guide about creating a book using Book Bolt and publishing it on Amazon KDP, Book Bolt has made some changes. I’m not sure how they did it but it’s simpler than ever to create a book using Book Bolt.

So I figured it’s only fair to give you a revised step-by-step guide on using Book Bolt to create Medium Content books to sell on Amazon KDP and wherever books are sold.

And yes, you can complete this process in just one day.

Selecting The Cover Template

  1. Click Research — On the left
  2. Click Create.
  3. Click Book Bolt Studio — The New Project window will pop up:
  • Under Project Type, select Paperback: Cover and Interior.
  • Under Project Name, type a name. It doesn’t need to be the book title.
  • Under Trim Size, select 8.5×11 in (21.59×27.94 cm).
  • Under Interior and Paper Type, select Black & White Interior with White Paper.
  • Select Bleed — If you want your text to go to the end of your book’s page. I suggest selecting Bleed.
  • Select No Bleed — If you don’t.
  • Under Page Count, select the number of pages you want — I suggest 50–100 pages.

4. Click Create Project

Hide The Cover Template

Before working on the cover page, move the cover template you completed out of the way. Here’s how to do that.

  1. Click the Black & White cluster boxes icon at the top.
  2. On the Cover Template Opacity box, check Hide Cover Template.
  3. Click OK.

Creating The Exterior — Cover Page

The exterior — Cover Page will be in color.

  1. Click the Image Icon — On the left.
  2. Click Pixabay — on the top. Type the theme you want, like Summer, Birthday, etc.
  3. Choose a picture.
  4. Expand the Image to fit entirely in the box — The front of the book is on the right.
  5. Click T for text — On the left.

6. Click Heading.

7. Type Your Title, Drag & Put it where you like — The front of the book is on the right.

You can use different Fonts on the Cover Page. Here’s how:

  1. Click T for text — On the left.
  2. Click the V (arrow down) icon — On the top and choose the font you want.

You can change the Text Color. Here’s how:

  1. Highlight the text.
  2. Click Black Box — On the top.
  3. Drag inside the box to change color.

You can add other pictures to the Cover Page. Here’s how:

  1. Click the Picture Icon — On the left.
  2. Click Pixabay — on the top. Type the theme you want, like Summer, Birthday, etc.
  3. Choose a picture.
  4. Drag where you want.

Creating The Interior — Inside Pages

Keep in mind the interior will be Black and White. Now it’s time to create and beautify the pages of your book.

  1. Click on the Blank Page to add Page 1 — On the left.
  2. Click the image icon — on the left.
  3. Click Pixabay, choose a picture.
  4. Click Effects — On the top.
  5. Click Greyscale.
  6. Select Average.
  7. Click OK.

If you want to add Text:

  1. Click T for text — On the left.
  2. Click the V (arrow down) icon — On the top and choose the font you want.

To add Shapes:

  1. Click the Shapes icon — on the left.
  2. Choose a shape, drag and adjust it to your liking.

Page 2 is the back of page 1. Some people tend to leave this page blank.

Adding The Mazes

  1. Click Page 3.
  2. Click the Maze icon — on the left.
  3. Select a Maze Template.

You can use more than one template. You must complete each process first.

  1. Click the pages you want the maze to go on.
  2. Click Next.
  3. On the Options page, choose the Horizontal Size and Vertical Size.

The higher the number of Horizontal and Vertical sizes, the more challenging the puzzle.

  1. Click Submit

Book Bolt will randomly put mazes on the pages you choose. To add a different maze, repeat the steps by selecting a different maze and pages.

Circular Maze

If you choose a circular maze:

  1. On the Options Page in the Cells Count box, choose a number.

The higher the number, the more challenging the puzzle.

2. Click Submit.

Adding Pictures To The Maze Pages

  1. Click the Image icon — On the left. Choose an Image.
  2. Click Effects.
  3. Click Greyscale.

If you’re not happy with Greyscale, you can use Black & White.

4. Select Average.

5. Click OK.

6. Click the black & white multi-square — On the top right for the Opacity.

7. Toggle the Opacity to lighten the picture to see the maze beneath.

8. Click OK.

9. Under Normal Order — On the right — Click & Drag the word Image below the word Rectangular Maze.

Save Your Project

  1. Click Download — On the top, left.
  2. Select Download Current Project (CMYK).

Upload To Amazon KDP

You will need an Amazon account to create an Amazon KDP account, so you can upload and sell your book. Also, after you upload your book on Amazon, there is a 72-hour review period before it is available for sale.

  1. Create/Log In to your Amazon account.
  2. Create/Log In to your Amazon KDP account.
  3. Click Create — Paperback or Hardcover.
  4. Write Your Title.
  5. Ignore the Edition Number.
  6. Author name (your name if you wrote the book).
  7. Write a Description of your book.
  8. Publishing Rights (click I own the copyright if you own it).
  9. Add Keywords.
  10. For the Category — Go back to Book Bolt to find one.

Finding Category On Book Bolt

  1. Click Create.
  2. Click Research.
  3. Click KDP Categories — On the left.
  4. Type in your book title or type and choose a category.
  5. Go back to KDP and enter the category.

On KDP

  1. Select Get A Free KDP ISBN.

An ISBN # allows you to sell your book wherever books are sold, not just on Amazon KDP.

2. You can leave the Publication Date blank.

3. Choose Print Option.

4. Upload Manuscript.

5. Preview after you upload.

6. Set your Sale Price.

7. Click Publish Book.

That’s it! You’re done! It’s really that simple!
