Decentralized genesis to launch the worlds first interoperable smart contract blockchain.

On October 1st 2021 the Juno smart contract Hub will have its decentralized launch. Bootstrapped by a large group of independent Cosmos ecosystem validators, the Juno-1 main-net will mark a new chapter for the COSMOS ecosystem and blockchain space at large.

About Juno

Juno is a sovereign interoperable smart contract blockchain and part of the Cosmos ecosystem, enabling a simple environment for the deployment of smart contracts. The network serves as a decentralized, permission-less & censorship resistant avenue for developers to efficiently and securely launch smart contracts using proven frameworks and compile them in various languages Rust & Go.

CosmWasm, will allow for decentralized applications (dapps) to be compiled on robust and secure multi-chain smart contracts.

Juno will launch with the latest Cosmos SDK version 0.4.3. Initially the network will potentially go live without the CosmWasm 1.0 smart contract module. This will allow the ecosystem to focus on a stable launch and prioritize integrations on Emeris, Gravity Protocol and Osmosis AMM. Once CosmWasm 1.0 is in beta, an onchain proposal will introduce the module. If the beta releases before October 1st, Juno may launch with Wasm. You may track the CosmWasm 1.0 progress here.

Dapps created for JunoHack phase 1 can then be deployed on the mainnet unlocking phase 2 of JunoHack which will introduce another wave of incentives for developers and gives Juno an early adoption head start. There are currently many developers collaborating on Juno dapps covering categories such as AMMs, NFT marketplaces, Vaults and more.

Ecosystem support for Genesis

Some of the most reputable proof of stake network security providers have confirmed their Juno genesis support.

Blockscape, stakefish, SG-1, Dimi, Stargaze.fi, Sentinel, Citadel. One, Figment, SimplyVC, AuditOne, KalpaTech, VitWit, Stakin, AC Validator, Iqlusion, Cosmic Validator, Ubik Capital, StakeLab, Imperator, Strangelove, 0BaseVC, DEC Labs, Ki Foundation, ITA Stakers, OmniFlix, SecureSecrets, SmartNodes, Chainvibes, Nodes.Guru, EZstaking, Chainflow, Chaos Validator, SpacePotayto, Notional validator, LOACOM,Cephalopod Equipment Corp, Cyber, StakeWithUs, HashQuark, 8888 Validator, Cypher Core, Stakecraft, DVS, Monobot, Daylight Network, Disperze, Waves, Stakely.io, Pathrocknetwork, OranG3cluB, NLL- Community Staking, Colinka, Daylight Network, nullmames, BasBlock, Staketab, Web34Ever, STC Capital and many more.

Delegators will be able to stake their assets with these validators once the network is live. We urge all delegators to distribute delegations evenly across the entire set to decentralize the network from day 1. This reduces your personal slashing risk and it strengthens the Juno Network.

A detailed delegator guide will be released over the coming weeks so that stakers can easily interact with their stakedrop $JUNO and start securing the mainnet at launch.

Validators that would like to secure the Juno Network from day 1, please reach out to the core development team over the coming weeks. The set size was increase to 100 spots and they are filling up fast.

FAQ

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

⚪️ What is the staking 2.0 model?

Juno uses a novel incentive structure whereby the difference between the genesis supply (64.5 Mill) and the max supply (185.5 Mill) are fixed in the protocol & allocated to parties securing the network ie. validators & delegators over 12 years based on a fixed yearly amount that gradually approaches the 185.5 Million max supply. During the first 3 years after genesis there are 2 halving events. Once the yearly allocation reaches 10% it gradually reduces on a 1% basis each year. At the end of phase 12 (12 years) the max supply is reached and Juno becomes fully deflationary.

Details about the 12 phase reward structure.

⚪️ Is there a minimum commission baseline?

Yes. The minimum commission bottom is set at 2.5% for all validators. There is no upper limit.

⚪️ Will Juno launch with IBC at genesis?

Yes. Juno will launch with Stargate (IBC) on October 1st

⚪️ How can brand new validators that do not qualify for the stakedrop get access to Juno in order to launch a validator node?

The Development Reserve (Multi-Sig) will allocate a small amount of Juno to brand new validators shortly after genesis in order to bootstrap.

⚪️ Will there be official delegations?

There will not be any official delegations from the development reserve.

⚪️ How long is the unbonding period?

The unbonding duration is 28 days.

⚪️ How much are soft & hard slashes?

  1. Soft slash = 0.1%
  2. Hard slash = 5%

If there are any unanswered question please post you questions in the validator or developer sub channels on Discord.
