Jubilee Women’s Center in Seattle provides necessary skills for low-income women. I love that Jubilee teaches a 3-part strategy to grow to help women grow: overcome barriers, build resiliency, and maintain stability.

Our lives are multi-dimensional, so Jubilee focuses on wholeness. From computer classes, community service, resume building, financial stability to legal services, women are being taught to take control of their own lives.

The women come from backgrounds of domestic violence, mental health, disability, substance abuse, or illness. Their programs have led to great success rates for gaining employment and/or job training.

I donated to Jubilee as part of my 52 Weeks of Giving plan because I believe in giving people the skills to give back to the world. We all have something to contribute during our lives and we should all have the opportunity.

I’m also looking forward to filling out the volunteer form and getting involved in the future.
