This is the beginning of my journey, my first donation. This week I chose to grab the low hanging fruit. I was renewing my auto tabs and I saw the pre-filled box for the Washington State Park donation at $5. I immediately increased the amount to $10 and submitted my form.

I know I’m starting with a very local donation that will not apply to most people. As a hiker, Washington State Parks are very close to my heart.

Heather Lake Trail, 4.6 Miles

I live in a beautiful state with so much to see. I enjoy the challenges of hiking and the company I keep during each trip. Nature is my therapy. When I’m stressed or struggling with an issue, I head to a trail to work it out.

Hiking gives me the ability to push my body and ease my mind. It’s always great to take my furry best friend, Paladin, with me.

Each week we make decisions with our money. As Kate Northrup would say, we vote for what we value with our dollars. This week it’s you, Washington State Parks, I pick you!

That’s Me! 6.2 Miles Done, 4 Miles to Go!

So when you’re renewing your tabs, think about the pristine lakes, clean trails, and breath-taking views Washington has to offer. Or visit their website to donate and/or volunteer your time.

Don’t forget to join the conversation using #Match10. I want to hear how you are making a difference.
